Only if it violates other rights which applies to all natural rights.

Oh yes ... that's probably true for any society, especially one where there is conflict.

So much truth, often apparently contradictory, and so many liars, or half-liars, or quarter-liars.

Trying to come to some conclusion about almost any controversial subject in history is worse than trying to solve a tricky puzzle in mathematics, because you are never sure you've reached the truth. At least with most puzzles you know when you've cracked it, or you can look up the answer. But we can't avoid trying to understand these things. To quote an old cliche, we may not be interested in war, but war is interested in us.

I remember the quote "That's one small step for man, One Giant Leap For Mankind"
“I don’t know why people who have not been on rockets continue to ask, ‘You’re not scared?’ No we were not scared.. until something happens, then it’s time to get scared.”

I use to put a lot of hope of that coming to light or maybe even long rail guns to shoot cargo into space. But, last I read the obstacles might be too large to overcome.

If we are going to venture out into space, it's the only logical first step we have other than a moon outpost. All other options are too hard to overcome with the tech we have for the foreseeable future. It will never be a living, breathing planet again, at least one we could stay on without suits, but it's possible to have underground facilities perhaps in lava tubes.

Willy Ley's great book on going to the Moon, the first actually scientifically feasible "study" of the idea published in 1950, speculated we MIGHT be able to try the voyage in the year 2000. We actually did it less than 20 years later. OTOH we went a few times and never returned; too much effort for too little return.

Years of sober reflection and continuing technical progress have served us well. We found the all-important water on Luna without which it seemed we could never live free of a tether to home and now it seems that some areas of the moon, the volcanic tunnels, might one day be made safer than Old Earth. It may take only a few more years or a few more millenia, the footprints next to the Eagle will be as fresh as the day they were made either way.

Actually terraforming our moon is also possible eventually though of course Mars is relatively easier.
