    It's the new Reconstruction.

Southerners are going to see the last vestiges of their heritage, both good and bad, stomped out and replaced with a revisionist history of shame and defeat.

Well, NASCAR is a private business, and if they do not want to risk offending a potential customer, than they are free to not have a silly car from a stupid tv show at their event.

Not everyone sees the Confederate flag as a symbol of fonder times.

Whoa, if a girl like that was on every confederate flag, no one would have a problem with it then.

Personally, I think it's sad that so many people today apparently cannot distinguish between honoring one's heritage and endorsing it. Doing the former does not mean you are doing the latter.

General Lee was a great American General. He fought for the wrong side, but his reasons for doing so had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery. It should be possible 150 years later to honor the man for his military achievements as well as his character without somehow being a racist for doing so.

Odd. I never said I was quoting anyone.

Not sure what your complaint is, but it appears wholly manufactured.

    Meh...

It's just a car from a TV show...

    But, ultimately, it's their decision...

There wasn't a real fight over that, also in the "NWO" was so successful, why do the British still use the pound and obviously the queens image on their currency lol?

Right. I completely made up the fact that not everyone looks at the flag and thinks of fonder times. It is complete fiction. Never has anyone in the history of the country mentioned that they do not care for what the confederate flag stands for. Nary a single time. 300,000,000 plus people in this country and every single one of them looks at the confederate flag and thinks of how nice those confederates were, how wonderful of times it was for folks of all races.

What a brilliant argument you put forth. You sure did take me to task. I am certain that not a single person in this world has heard anything but unfettered and undiluted love for the confederate flag.

    Well done.

Um, NASCAR didn't ban anyone from doing anything...

    They made a business decision...

That said, my initial post was saying that I don't see any reason to make a big deal over a car...

How about you become a billionaire and buy out NASCAR and then do whatever the hell you want with it instead of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about changes its made that you don't like, and soap boxing about conspiracies on an internet forum?

Your statement was unsupported because you did not specify who is looking at the confederate flag "as a symbol of fonder times". Since you concede that you weren't quoting the article or anyone here, this comment seems to be out of place in this discussion.

It seems to me that many confederate flag wavers, the men who wrote the Justifications for Seccession, and many gay marriage proponents have one thing in common...

...they'll wanna do what they're doing (done) even more if someone tells (told) them they can't.
