Repealing the 16th amendment would be a much better way to go.

You think the govt can be funded with a consumption tax?

Where did I mention a consumption tax? Repealing the 16th amendment and returning to how the Constitution allowed the Federal government to acquire the revenue required to fund the spending the Representatives of the people in the House and the Representatives of the State in the Senate agreed to is all I was referring to.

So what does that loom like today?

And Im going to give you a little hint. The 16th Amendment is as much a part of the constitution as the preamble.

    ???

A hint? Here's another hint. Of course the 16th and all other amendments are a part of the Constitution, as was the 18th amendment which was repealed by the 21st amendment. Article V allows us to make changes, and to make corrections to changes as well.
