OK so you are denying what exactly, that IT people working on SIPRNET and high side don't need the highest clearance available on the equipment? Because your own anecdote seems to contradict that. You were the network administrator, whether you had an IT, systems admin, or cyber occupational specialty or not.

And this unit was apparently housed in a permanent facility, not a tactical SCIF. "2 person integrity" is irrelevant in facilities run 24/7 with regular shifts. So if your argument is that your small SCIF did without IT people over twenty years ago, OK I get that, but that doesn't describe a lot of building sized SCIF's with large full time missions running.

Holy crap....do you even know why your panties are twisted? Did you actually read my comments? Why are you so desperate to turn this into a pissing contest?

Every response has already been given. My original comment which apparently got you twisted was this didnt happen...couldnt happen...in my era. Document leaks occurred...but invariably they occurred in records depositories where protocol and procedures were not followed. I dont pretend to know what SCIF life is like in 2023. I ran SCIFs including deployed 'SCIFs' (not really SCIFs) in tents for 8 years until 2003. I LITERALLY said that it was different then to now.

OK then maybe you can understand how an IT person working in a classified facility, could have access to the highest levels of classification on the systems of that facility.

That was really my point that you seemed to vehemently disagree with.

Well, as long as you keep your eyes open, it shouldn't take long for you to come across this info, even without trying. While I am not a regular viewer of the show, I caught the middle of SNL, last night, for its "Weekend Update," news segment, and even there, this was the leadoff story:

    !!!

Unbelievable. I asked for evidence, and you provide a clip from Saturday Night Live!

OK, you know what? I take it back. I'm sorry I asked you anything. I knew it was a bad idea but I thought you really had some source that identified that this guy was Alt Right and he was chatting with Russians and Ukrainians in his discord group.

Carry on with your crazy misinformation...

Don't be stupid. First of all, you did not "ask for evidence." You'd merely said that you hadn't seen this reported.

    Lil Mike said: ↑

Where are you getting this? I've not seen any news coverage that describes him as alt right or that his discord group had Russians and Ukrainians in it. Big news if true but...I've not seen that.

It speaks volumes about the accuracy of your appraisals of others comments, when you cannot even accurately interpret you own. I'm not saying that some could not have interpreted your post, to imply that you were asking for verification. But you did, by no means, actually ask for it.

Secondly, and even more importantly, I had not been presenting this as proof. I had said that, unless you were actively trying to avoid hearing the news, you could hardly miss, finding out about this. The "Weekend Update" example, was not a source confirming any particular facts other than HOW UBIQUITOUS, IS THE COVERAGE OF THIS STORY. In other words, supporting my contention, that you could hardly help but see this news:

Is your ability to understand so poor, that you took this to be my offering the comedy clip, in place of the news, which I had just claimed it should not take you long, to come across? The meaning of my post, if you are that lost, to not grasp it, was that I assume you will come across this coverage on your own, without any need of my assistance. One cannot watch a single, legitimate news broadcast, at present, without hearing this mentioned. So it is really irrelevant, all your ridiculous attempts to try to discredit my post, & therefore the idea within it; the question is why have you not already seen independent verification of this story? It is literally EVERYWHERE-- even on SNL.

A longish post complaining about me, but nothing to substantiate your claims.

I've already apologized. It was absolutely a mistake to ask you anything.

Instead of answering my question (& acknowledging that what I'd said about the leaker, you have now discovered, is true-- or that the reason you "haven't heard" about it, is because you don't actually follow the news), you serve up your typical, Lil Mike sandwich:
two slices of criticism, with no substance in-between.

Just wondering about this, given the number of days the guy arrested for the leaks may have been on duty, and questioning the ability dude had to aggregate the documents. I am beginning to be less certain that the documents were in fact collected by our aspiring little airman here. Why? Given the actual documents, it's hard to imagine that he would have had access at all to the daily CIA brief which was part of the cache of documents circulated. I think there is a very real possibility that the kid couldn't have had access, and he's a front for the folks who actually did the breach, and used the kid to publish/circulate them.

It begs the question of how the NYTs was able to be so ahead of everyone else in the party.

Broad access among IT personnel is inevitable with current technology.
The Discord group had no controls on anything, so tracking down the source was no more difficult than pulling a thread on a sweater.

First of all, this "kid" needs to be a sacrifice. He needs to stand trial and if guilty be hung.
Regardless of his motives, we cannot have troops deciding what secrets can not revealed and what can not.
The rot is due to lack of talent in the military hierarchy, but that does not excuse him. It is time to march his chain of command to the armed services committee and start firing, charging, and jailing the incompetents in the chain of command.

...pretty sure they do....which makes his signing an NDA a bit of a bummer for the lad really doesn't it. Maybe if he wanted to big himself up on a nerd site he should've of though a bit longer about what he was doing and what would happen when he was caught. Tough shyte on him really.

It’s western propaganda that has made Russia a big bad wolf to fear and needs to be stopped before they take over the world.

Who is we? My medical information was already in the VA’s computer system before I setup my account. So where did the VA get the passwords from because they didn’t get it from me?

They are not nearly as dedicated and tough as they were 30 years ago. Their standards have declined dramatically over the last couple decades.

No but I'll check them out. This fight involves The Korean Zombie, who is a pretty good example of the SK military. I haven't seen a fight this good since Griffin/Bonner. Holy Moses.

A 'whistleblower' has good intentions. He only intended to share the classified documents with a small group of friends on the platform Discord to claim bragging rights. Some of the members of his private Discord group leaked the classified documents to share them with the outside world.
