    Truth! They get more precision pistol training than anyone. The agency I worked with - US Border Patrol - gets into more armed confrontations than all other Federal Agencies combined, but there's too much political correctness hamstringing training for the most part.

    What was considered duty-grade ammo?

    Yeah, if you are too good you might be accused of violating a criminal's right to a fair trial.

    At the time we were running 155-gr .40 S&W Remington JHPs, loaded to higher velocities than standard.

    Did the expand better than the standard? Our testing if I recall, was the standard load performed almost like FMJ.

    Looking at the testing it was interesting how it perfectly mushroomed and penetrated to the optimum depth in gelatin. However, intermediate barriers (drywall, etc.) could plug up the hollowpoint and it would perform like ball. Different cloth could affect the performance as well; standard cotton or wool clothing didn't seem to radically undermine performance, but denim or heavy winter insulated jackets could cause overpenetration issues.

    We experienced over penetration issues in our testing, but we usually place denim before gelatin in our testing. I haven't researched actual field performance reports.

    Our field results back in the early 2000's were pretty good for the time. There's better ammo today, but what we were using back then performed well enough to do the job when needed.

    There is no point in poking a rotting corpse with a stick. It is not going to move.

    You started by saying;

    " And if he is law abiding, sane and trained then he should have one. And if he isn't he shouldn't be near a gun."

    I then asked;

    "Is near a Gun the same as owning a Gun ???"

    You responded;

    "Really? LOL"

    You do the same with everything, useless circle jerk arguments.

    Perfect example.

    he has migrated to Debate Politics and is spewing the same anti gun nonsense over there. I suppose he can come back here-banned here might mean temporarily.

    DP is unlikely to ban him for the things he was banned for here.

    Love to. I was banned there long ago (don't remember why) and they catch people with multiple logins.

    Actually we need far less gun laws and we need the people of California and New York to be freed from illegal draconian gun laws
