Why, you want us to suffer with you?
It's a new system. We can set it up however we desire.
I notice that you enjoy getting subsidized in hundreds of ways. How many ways can you accept something taken from your neighbors and transferred to you before you begin to feel guilty?
Worms who demand other peoples stuff squirm in the mud
I paid nearly £40,000 in tax last year. That's more money than many people earn in the UK. The average male UK wage is £30,531. Can you advise me what my neighbor is subsidising me?
That's income tax based on my P40 and P38D.
Oh, I get it.
Another anonymous internet poster who just enjoys paying taxes and subsidizing his neighbors.
Haven't seen that one before
Are you not anonymous? Is squidward your real name?
How am I subsidized? You've intrigued me.
Yes, if something can be privatized, then I don't see why they should be public.
Private education is better than public education.
Private buildings are better than public buildings.
Private parks are better than public parks.
But buildings and parks... sure let's have some public buildings and parks. They aren't super expensive nor are they necessary to a person's life.
But education, healthcare, food, clothing, housing.. that should all be in the private sector.
I'm not understanding what you mean by this sentence.
Obviously you're not. You pay high taxes and thereby subsidize those in lower tax brackets than you, because you care. Very noble
Translation: He wants to pay less than those that make more than him
Because in the US it would be a brand new program and it would be good for at least in this program for everyone to chip in equally.
That's unfair to the people that make more money
I'm not talking about any of those. I'm suggesting that if the US were to institute a national health service it ought to fund it exclusively with a new and separate tax that goes into a separate fund which would the the exclusive payment for the health care system. Further, I'm suggesting that every person receive the same monthly or quarterly tax bill for this tax.
You must be a politician, never answered a single thing.
Why can't individuals simply buy this wonderful policy directly from government instead of a private company like they do currently?
There's nothing prohibiting this
They know this is logical. They want subsidized however. He'll never admit that he wants a wealth transfer
He doesn't care. He wants your money to help pay for him
Yep. Since we all equally share in the benefits of government, why don't we all pay the same amount of tax? Why should some pay more than others when we all get the same thing?
Now that doesn't win votes
The truth is never popular nor appreciated.
Currently, government finances the majority of health care spending in the US, and that doesn't include tax subsidies. So far, single payer only "saves" money if there's a 40% reduction in payments to providers(over current, private health insurance pay schedules), and health care utilization ONLY goes up 9%.
