And he is not on "The Left", but sure seems to be unhinged by more than one person that is known for being on "The Right".

Yeah, that might make sense. Until in a single post he expressed disdain and contempt to multiple sources, all of them the same politically. That shows it is not as he is trying to make it out, but is biased and holds all that do not share his beliefs in contempt.

AM Radio, Praeger, Hannity, Limbaugh, the bias is obvious. Might as well throw in Goldberg, Elder, and Medved while he is at it.

Good example of why I think the number of independents is far smaller than is usually reported. Looks like a leftist, posts like a leftist..."oh noes, I'm not left, I'm a free thinker! I disagree with the left on almost 1%!"

It is even more telling when I see them respond to me.

Politically, I tend to be "militarily and Internationally" Conservative. And Socially Liberal. If it deals with our military or relations with other countries, I tend to be quite "to the right". Yet on social issues, I swing quite a bit to the other side.

And I make no attempt to hide this, is why I laugh when the radicals on both side often scream at me. And I generally hold in disdain any who throw around "Liberal" and "Conservative" as if they are insults.

That like this just screams to me they are dishonest, because a "true independent" would be beyond all of that nonsense, and freely take from either side where their views overlapped.

Hell, I have not even tried to hide my disdain at a great many "Libertarians" (who I often call "Losertarians" for their crazy beliefs), but I still hold a great many basic beliefs in common. When it comes to the Constitution, I am actually very "Libertarian", in that I believe it protects everybody, even the rights of the Klan to exist and hold peaceful rallies free of harassment and arrest. Does not mean I do not think they are a bunch of racist lunatics, but I support their right to do so.

With me, I think most often I tend to move away from who is the most "batshit crazy". And for the last half a decade or so, that has been the Left. They really have gone completely off the rails, and I see them more and more as a joke that are actually alienating me and pushing me away. And I know a lot of "independents" and "moderates" that feel the same way. This entire "If you are not one of us you are the enemy" garbage.

There are many on here who claim they are not on the left but 98% of thier posts are biased to the left. How can you only support the left but not be on the left? Fatback started a thread asking this very question and of course people tried to claim they were not on the left but like you said if they post like a leftist to me they are a leftist.

I think the problem is that far to many people have deluded themselves that everybody does, or should think exactly as they do. This entire "if you are not with me you are against me" nonsense I hate.

I am aware of my bias, and where I swing on most subjects. Throw out military, defense, or security (of not just my own country but of others), I tend to swing to the right, quite far. In fact, because I do not even care where it is some thing I am "Far Right" because I believe in helping all, be it people living in Darfur, girls going to school in Afghanistan or the Congo, or people on Taiwan or in the Ukraine who only want to live in peace without a neighboring bully nation threatening to take them over. To me, all are worthy of being protected, and in fact if the Ukraine was invading Russia I would be urging their protection also.

But the thing is, I am aware I am a bit extreme here, and am fine with it. Honestly, I can not comprehend the "Ostrich Approach" of going "Oh, it's not my problem", or "Why should we die to protect others"? The last really bothers me as I have served for decades, and know that 98% that say garbage like that would never join the military, and are so self-obsessed that they do not get that nobody is asking them to.

And I see it as the same arrogance that causes celebrities get onto a stage, then go on a political rant. And to be honest, I once again do not care which side it is for or against. I am paying money to see/hear you perform, not to try and lecture me on how I should believe. A lot of actors and musicians I have stopped paying attention to or buying their works years ago, because I got tired of that nonsense. I think I first really became aware of it in around 2004, when Rob "Meathead" Reiner was presenting an award to the late John Ritter at the TV Land Awards shortly after he died, and he then went on a tirade against President Bush and the Iraq War. Completely inappropriate, and even a lot of the audience were booing him and Sally Struthers who was next to him was largely silent. Even she knew that was not appropriate, and not the time and place to be lecturing others on politics.

It was to honor John Ritter and his passing, not lambasting the President.

Plus, I have gotten frankly bored of every time myself or another is saying we have Conservative views, we are screamed at for being "Racists". Come on now, really? That is the best you can do? Can't even have an honest conversations with them, it is total lunacy.

Of course, the Far Right is not much better, but even the more "Moderate Right" tend to see them as lunatics. They are easy to spot, USS Liberty, "Jewz", 9/11 and other conspiracy nonsense tends to consume them, and even those I know on the more radical right tend to look at them like they are morons with 2 heads. But many on the Left actually embrace their lunatics, and urge them on.
