https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nc-congressional-candidate-lengthy-arrest-history well, I would vote for this guy and I think he’s right to point out people are sick of career politicians. We do need real people with real lives who are effected by laws rather than avoided them by special privileges. I don’t see a single thing wrong this guy
So, he wants us to elect people that obviously have no self-control and make poor life decisions. No thanks...
There are plenty of regular, everyday Joe's out there that would be good candidates, and who don't have a criminal record, or stupid enough to drive drunk, or beat on women...
NC candidate, Green Beret with lengthy arrest record says there's a 'push to elect real people. No thanks. We already have too many criminals in elected office.
Personally, I think anyone that is running against a Trump candidate has to be an improvement. That is, of course, until Trump endorses them.
~ Honestly. What a novel concept in politics. As far as I am concerned this guy can replace Biden tomorrow .. !
I mean bad source and all but still. I don’t care if a person was arrested. I’m convinced my boss was in jail for 20 years. And when he says he’s proud of me I love it. So as far as I’m concerned? Go for it man. Show people ex-felons can be good leaders.
He's your typical republican crook. https://www.justice.gov/usao-wdmo/pr/taney-county-restaurant-owner-sentenced-tax-evasion#:~:text=On Aug.,cash income to the IRS.. 2015? Not long ago. But now he's a changed person, right? Green Beret? Who cares. We have civilian leadership, not military. Green Berets are trained to kill people. Is that helpful for a politician?
At this point I tend not to support former military for office. Honor, duty, and all of that is great but not unique to the military; nor is it a necessary consequence of military service. But more than that, the military teaches authoritarian rule and how to kill people. I don't think either of these is desirable for a leader. I see how the military has screwed up a lot of people I've worked with over the years. Four years of hell and they are ruined for life. Boot camp is all about brain washing. And that assumes they don't see military action. One day can destroy your life. Many people never get beyond the psychological damage suffered when in a war zone. My cousin served 5 tours in Iraq. He got home and blew his brains out a year later.
While I may agree in theory, in this case, the guy seems to use his status as a veteran to create for himself the "special privilege" of splaining away his criminal history. If this were all 20 years ago, sure. But if he is out getting arrested 4 years ago after a pattern of 20 years, I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole even if he otherwise checked all my position boxes.
So let me see if I get this right here.... By serving their country you don't think that makes them fit to... Serve their country?
