I knew that was going to happen before the legislation even passed, I predict something else to happen also, it will provide a majority of people with no extra money for when they file their yearly income taxes either or if it does at all it will be such a paltry small sum to the point of being redundant.

The whole thing was meant for the obscenely wealthy and upper classes only.

...or paltry unless they are buying chickens.

I thought everyone (both Republicans and Democrats) was clear that the major direct beneficiaries of the tax cuts would be the richest n% and large corporations. The GOP believe that the benefits will then "trickle down" to everyone else (contrary to past experience but maybe this time it will be different). The Democrats do not believe that this will be the case and instead wealth will continue to be concentrated in the hands of the few.

It's late over here and I work at a luxury restaurant as a chef. I sometimes confuse the words with work on the brain. All I can say is that at least Stalin promised the working class slaves a chicken in every pot, just kidding of course. [Or am I?]

As for the United States as a whole, you have a choice between limousine liberals and republican crony venture capitalists, what a difference of choices that all makes!

[Or under our current president a billionaire hotel, realty, and casino owner that is an ex reality t.v. show star.]

If someone serious about the truth about Trump's tax reform, they need have seriously to make an an intelligence test ... presumably the IQ is well below 90!

But the really great is not yet next year, when the upcoming elections are over ... you do not want to scare potential voters before an election!

The acting US Minister of Finance has already ... little noticed ... stated that he will make next year further savings to finance the tax reform ... because Medicare and Medicaid are a thorn in his side and should be abolished as far as possible = a lot of money is saved in order to put the rich and the corporations in the butt!

How much have people who didn't have jobs before the job stimulating tax cuts, seen their paychecks increase?

People who now have jobs have a bowl full of skittles, where before they had none.

Did that reach your comprehension level, or do I need to simplify it more for you?

Not surprising at all. Reducing business taxes was the whole purpose. It helped make American businesses more competitive with those in other countries. The personal tax cuts were simply a way of selling it to people who don't understand economics.

People were "now have(ing) jobs" before the tax cuts as unemployment was already on a downwards direction

How have they been made more competitive ?

It's a shame that, instead of investing in their businesses to make them more competitive, most businesses have opted to pass the benefits of those tax cuts on to the shareholders.

In any case, I'm not sure how a reduction in corporation taxes (which are paid on profits) makes businesses any more competitive. It doesn't reduce their cost base in any way, it merely makes more profits available for shareholders. Indeed, it almost creates a disincentive to reinvest in the business because the tax advantages of doing so are reduced.

So a third saw an increase in take home pay and the rest have jobs that may have been lost without the tax cut. In reality though probably a good portion of those saw more money to but are never Trumpers and don't want to admit it to a pollster.

Obama and his gang of fools had no experience in the private sector and were running the economy at idle

He was arguing that factory jobs were gone and never coming back

How can you respond? Well, one way would be to show an increase in number of jobs coinciding with the tax cuts

They are able to compete more effectively with companies in other countries. A tax reduction is an expense reduction.

I don't think that is true. It has been more common for companies to buy back stock from share holders. The initial tax cut created a windfall of sorts for companies. Over time competition will adjust that. Don't forget that income tax is an expense item on the profit and loss statement. It is the company's customers who pay for all expense items. If not, then the company fails.

It doesn't make them any more competitive with each other since they all get the same tax reduction. It makes them more competitive with businesses in other countries. We used to have the highest business tax rates in the world. Now we have average rates that are more compeitive with those of other countries.

Very few unemployed before the tax cuts now have jobs.

Why? They were not trained for the jobs or they can't work.

I will prove it as soon as you prove I am wrong. :applause:
