What exactly were you expecting then? Did it ever occur to you that the authoritian restrictions on liberty that 'all the 2A people' typically view as abusive might not be viewed as abusive under certain circumstances, like a deadly pandemic? Or did you really think they were just a bunch of loons looking for any excuse to shoot at the govt? Perhaps you can rest a bit easier now knowing that 10's of millions of gun owners across the nation are more reasonable than that...
HonestlyI have no fear of those elements of the government that are armed. I can not picture a scenario where they'd back a dictatorship.
I am well aware of the 10s of millions of "reasonable" gun owners. They wern't the thrust of the "joke". I guess you can't discern the difference between the vocal advocates screaming about "they are coming for your guns which proves that we need them to resist such tyranny" crowd, and all those reasonable owners. Selling guns "to protect our way of life" I've always seen as a marketing tool and NRA propaganda geared towards the right-wing chest thumpers.
