    Or they just chose free speech. I’m this news I signed up for Spotify today for the first time and subscribed to Joe Rogan. Haven’t listened yet but I will.

    Hmmm wonder how Hipgnosis Songs and their investors feel now

    "Last year publicly traded music investment firm Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd. announced a deal to purchase a 50% stake in Neil Young’s songwriting catalog. The sale fetched a price between $40 million and $50 million, according to people familiar with the deal. While Hipgnosis investors stand to benefit from royalties when Mr. Young’s music is streamed on Spotify and other services, music lawyers say they wouldn’t have a say in the tussle with Spotify because of the way publishing rights typically work."

    In my opinion Neil Young is one of the 3 greatest songwriters of the 20th century.

    But he's dead wrong here, and be has been many a time before.

    Appreciating art from artists with views I disagree with is not difficult. I acknowledge Reifenstahl's films are revolutionary works of art despite them promoting Nazi propaganda, for instance.

    You have a legit free speech argument.

    However, what we have here a public health issue and that is a legitimate constraint on free speech.

    You can't shout fire in a theatre. That is a legitimate constraint on free speech.

    You can't defame people, that is a legitimate constraint on free speech.

    You can't spread misinformation about vaccines that are saving lives.

    That is a legitimate constraint on free speech.

    Neil Young is a music Icon, has a world wide fan base, right up their with Crosby, Stills, & Nash. Come to think of it, it used to be Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and they were major influencers on AMerican music in the 70s. Young is 'folk rock', Folk Rock was big in the 70s and CSNY were huge, I mean really big, like the Eagles, Like Bob Dylan, and Dylan doesn't have a great voice, either, but no one complains. but today, they call it country or something, I have no idea.

    I find it Amazing that you do not know who he his. You must be 20 years old, or something.

    Anybody who will not get a vaccine because Joe Rogan says they shouldn't is too stupid to live anyway. Two years ago he was putting people in glass boxes full of live scorpions, now he's worth 100 million and is giving us all medical advice.

    I miss the 60s a lot, but I was young. But, the massive sea change of societal consciousness, from the stuffy atmosphere of the 50s, to the wild and free and conscious raising, sexual revolution, arts and music revolution, of the 60s, it was something to behold, and that era cannot be repeated, I'm glad I lived it.

    I have to admit, I have never listed to Rogan's Podcast.
    All I know of Rogan is when he says something completely idiotic and there is a story about him.
    The guy strikes me as a real tool.
    I have no idea what his appeal is, or why his podcast is so popular.

    I have not listened to him either. But ol Neil Young gave Joe Rogan another listener out of this. He also gave Spotify another listener being I just signed up for the first time.
