Netflix Fires Major Warning Shot At Its Woke Employees With New ‘Culture Memo’

It's happening. Netflix is telling their woke employees that cancel culture is not part of their business model and if they don't like it then there's the door. The culture of wokeness seems to have run it's course and businesses/people no longer want to be held hostage by the radical few.

People, especially the employees of Netflix, seemed to have forgotten the reason why that company exists and it exists for one reason only: profits for the shareholders. When Netflix went woke they lost customers and that means they lost profits.

 

I believe probably Netflix is very progressive, and mostly agrees with all this, but the cancel culture has just gotten so extreme and out of hand, they have had to put their foot down and apply the same "cancel" strategies to root out the cancel culture.

 

I guess they have a Norm MacDonald special ready to go.

According to the memo, it states, "The core principles of the Netflix Culture memo, including empowering employee decision-making, requiring candid feedback and terminating staffers who aren’t up to “dream team” snuff, remain intact. But there are some key changes. For starters, the document has a new title: “Netflix Culture — Seeking Excellence." Under Artistic Expression, it states, "Artistic Expression,” explaining that the streamer will not “censor specific artists or voices” even if employees consider the content “harmful,” and bluntly states, “If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you.” To me, they are just broadening the scope of movies they are offering, possibly more Asian horror movies which will put American Horror movies in the PG category, or continuing LGBTQ movies, woman movies, etc. Even movies that Ted Cruz may find "pornographic" for instance. And you say it is getting less "woke?"

 

I heard this on the news and I’m shocked. Hard to believe that a major company here told their employees to take a hike if they can’t handle working there. Great to hear actually

 

LOL! The ONLY thing Netflix employees had bitched about working on was Dave Chappelle's comedy specials. That's what this was about: telling the trannies to take a hike if they can't shut their mouths and get their work done. That is all it is about.

 

Like I said, culture is swinging in favor of the right. The radical Left overplayed their hands and have alienated to many to quickly. The irrational culture of wokeness and everthing it entails is passing. There may not be a single day or moment where the right can say “we have now won the culture war” but it’s clear it’s happening. The left is quickly and already at this moment restructuring itself to rid itself of woke ideology and its affiliates.

This is happening because conservatives are making it happen. The right has bent the nation to its way of thinking on an Abundance of issues. The left of tomorrow will not be the same left of yesterday. They are restructuring to look more like conservatives on an abundance of issues. And the great thing is most of them don’t even see it happening. That’s the price of victory, sometimes you gotta do it in a way your opponent is to stupid to see he’s lost.

Yes, a couple of employees filed a lawsuit against Netflix but Netflix still showed or allowed the special to be taped and distributed on Netflix. I got the emails for a few days asking me to watch this as a "recommendation."

Again, Netflix has increased its prices, added surcharges if you have more than three accounts, and eliminated password sharing. All of that is true. And that is why the company has lost a couple of hundred thousand subscribers. What you argued about is not the main reason or even the second, third, fourth, or even fifth reason why Netflix stock is dropping or losing customers.

False. They lost subscribers because of its woke nonsense that alienated to many people to quickly. Netflix is correcting course.

 

Not according to the financial analysts. In less than three months, all of the measures I mentioned came into effect and that is when they started losing subscribers, plus withdrawing from Russia. It had nothing to do with woke.

You're having trouble following the conversation again. We were discussing Netflix employees, not customers or shareholders. The memo was clearly directed to those extra-woke snowflake employees who were so upset by Chappelle's jokes that they were doing things like holding walk-outs and refusing to do their jobs.

 

Netflix and others in the film industry really need to stop making movies that are all about diversity, and just make movies with diversity that are about the story.

 

Good for them glad I renewed. About time a company told their woke employees they are there to do the job they were hired to do not dictate to the company how it will be run and what they will provide to their customers.

Yes do the job you were hired for and it you don't like the product we sell and prefer not to work at a company that does then seek employment elsewhere we are not a democracy of employees.
