Well....I am kinda conflicted here. Hmmm......Who would I rather have a nuclear weapon? Trump or an Iranian. Tough choice.

WTF are you doing with your drones anywhere near Iran, Trump? Just get the West out of there. Or explian to this Aussie what right you have to stick your nose into that place.

One of Trump's few redeeming qualities is his aversion to pointless wars. He has been outspoken about that for 20 years at least. Iran, on the other hand, holds an annual "death to America" national rally, and vows to wipe Israel off the map. Who would be better to have a nuke? No question in my mind.

Australia imports over 80% of it's petrol products, mainly from Singapore, who gets them from the ME. If the Australian Navy would like to take over security duty in the straights of Hormuz so that the oil tankers can pass unmolested, I'm sure we'd welcome the help, for a change.

There are other stats you might like to see.

    Here.

Our ships are with yours in those straits. Every time 'you' blokes get the schits with anyone, we are the first you call on and we are always there. I just wish 'you' would get out of the ME. Leave the Arabs alone and they might just leave 'you' alone. Israel? Well, Israel's security is their problem, not yours or ours. That State should never have been plonked there. Tasmania was offered. I am sure Australia and Tasmania would still be happy to host the State of Israel there. Everybody wins.

As for some fly saying "Death to America" ~ two things. It is a fly. Then....ask 'yourself'....why do they have the schits with 'you?' Why did the Japs have the schits with 'you,' so much so that they totally disgraced themselves in their desperation in a futile attempt to get 'you' off their backs ending in their absolute humiliation and now they are one of 'your' best buddies?

Whatever the military wants to do with them. How far away from Iran should they be?

    And allow terrorism to foster?

    Thanks for the link.

"Someone" needs to provide security for oil traffic in the straights of Hormuz. Almost half of the world's oil passes through that narrow passage. I'm happy for Australia to take over that duty, but I doubt that Australia alone is up to the task. The "fly" that is Iran today, becomes somewhat more than a "fly" if they are ever allowed to develop nuclear weapons. It is a threat to the US, to Australia, and to the rest of the world.

    Florida will do.

In a word........without fudging around.......Yes. We have no right to dictate or control what anyone does in their own Sovereign Nation. Sure.....if one attacks you, defend.

I see no threat. I have never seen an Iranian, a Paki, an Indian, a Brit, a Frenchman, a Chinaman, a Russian, or an Israeli, get schitty with the World (or any part of it) just because they have the Bomb. What gives here? It's okay that 'we' have the bomb......but 'you ********s'......"Nah, you can't have what we have. We can be trusted not to bomb your Nation, your Cities, your civilians, or your kids because we are such nice guys."

    Hmmmmmm.

    (Bloody word filter!!!)

Well, just because everyone on the cricket team has a bat and manage to play nice, doesn't mean it's a good idea to give one to the crazy murderous bloke down the road, who verbally threatens anyone who gets near him.

Yeah.....but there is ONE in the Team with a bat who tries to ride roughshod on the Planet.....with its bat. What was Trump saying the other day about how he would obliterate Iran because it had the gall to knock down a US plane which should have been in Florida...or any part of the USA. How about 'you' blokes keep yer drones in your own back yard?

Again, I'd be perfectly happy for someone else to take on security duty in the region to protect world interests. I don't see that happening though.

Excellent and highly relevant point about vegemite. Have you tried it? Yuk, hey.....unless you grew up on it.

You asked me about my right to question the US President. Okay...1st Amendment right back at ye. If that does not work for you....well this Forum is on the WWW....the World Wide Web...and that means I get to do what you ask me about. Feel entirely free to bash our Politicians as that is fine by me as well.

Ya know Team USA...there are critics (not just me) here and around the Planet. Some of you might find this as nasty and indigestible as I find it horrifying.

    Link.

If there is any accuracy in that.....any......it is not a good look, nay?

Interesting assertion of your US constitutional rights as a foreigner.... The question was more, because you aren't a US citizen, the US president doesn't represent you. As an "Aussie", you have your own government that does, which you should, if you can in Australia, demand that they represent your malcontent. It is how these things are done. And yes, in the US, we have the expectation of free speech. In Australia you probably don't. The WWW might make this seem like it is extended for your protection, but I wouldn't count on that in court in Australia...

Probably wouldn't need security duty in the straight if you got the US out of there.
Look at a map. They all want to get their oil out. Trouble starts when we decide one of those countries shouldn't make money from oil.

Ya see...even in our Constitution, there is provision for free speech concerning matters political. But that was not your point was it. I responded to your point by asserting rights under the First Amendment. Are you denying me those rights?

Someone said "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Okay, I will. :)

To put a very fine point on it, I doubt that you, as an Australian, are actually protected in the way that you assert. What you do have, is a very fragile set of court rulings that imply that you have an expectation of freedom. But that doesn't assert or protect the actual freedom, does it? My point is that while you can certainly criticize the US president, there is really no reason to give much, if any, weight to your critique. Yes, you are angst filled. Whoo hoo. angst on.

So, while you can quote Teddy, I bet his first inclination would be to tell you to mind your own business.

Ehm ... sorry ... as another foreigner from another continent:

If your American president only makes his bullshit at home and it only affects Americans, then we give a damn about .... but we can't probably resist taunting comments about ... :-D

The big problem is that most of the bullshit your American President caused unfortunately affects others outside of your border ... more than just affecting, but causing damage!
I could give you a lot of examples now, but let's just talk about Iran!
Your president has ended the Iran deal with proven false allegations and lies and reintroduced the sanctions, and then passed much stricter penalties.
As far as only your problem, if it concerns only American companies regarding the sanctions ... BUT ... that's exactly what it does not!
No ... Your president wants to impose his will on the rest of the world as far as the sanction is concerned, because everyone has to stick to it and who does not, will be punished by the USA. That's a wicked insolence! Why? Because apart from you, Israel and the Saudis, no one else of any importance on this planet shares your hatred of Iran, and everyone else describes the Iran deal as good and that Iran has stuck to the deal for 100%!
And if it comes to a war now, then the global impact, where the situation in 1990/1991 is only a joke compared to!
Let's take this down Global Hawk Drone ... just ask yourself how Iran can come to the wreckage parts of any Global Hawk drone if it was not shot down in their airspace and then crash in their territory! Did the Omanis and als you Americans just watched when the Iranians picked up the debris and wreckage parts outside their territory? Hardly possible ... because you're not that stupid, eh?
