Joined yesterday because I liked what I saw here. Formerly posted every day at Yahoo until they wussed out and shut down comments on stories there. Nothing like gutless cowardice. huh?
Its not so much cowardice as it is really hard to float propaganda when it is subject to open, critical discussion. So they get rid of any discussion. And welcome! No 'getting the hang of' necessary. Jump in.

I came from another forum as well. My advice to you is to quickly learn who is here to bait you, argue your points a couple of times but if they start personally attacking you, do not return in kind but report the posts quickly as they will report you without a second thought. But report them each time. It’s the only way the mods can see both sides of the story.
Hey, joesnagg, I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say. You'd already made a positive impression on me by liking a post I really didn't expect would get any likes on. I still feel like I'M learning the ropes, but that's only because, "Social media," is nothing I've been into before. If you're practiced in that, I doubt you'll have trouble here. I see some of the other members have offered you some good advice. I'll 2nd the suggestion that you'll save yourself a lot of grief (and time) if you spot those who only want to pick fights & just ignore them (unless that's what you want). I will add, though, that I've found this type of person at BOTH ends of the political spectrum, so I encourage you not to prejudge. Though I've got a mixed-bag of views, I clearly fall leftward, overall, & still I've had some very satisfying & respectful exchanges w/ people who lean in the other direction.
Welcome, Joe. I missed you in the bar but hope you'll stop back by. Yahoo used to run message boards and thats where I cut my teeth. No mods, few rules and as many IDs as you wanted. Times change... hope you enjoy it here!
