New CDC Report on Excess Deaths and COVID

The CDC has just released a report on excess deaths and COVID, covering the period from the end of January until October 3. It makes plain the scale of excess deaths and of COVID.

This is a useful riposte to those who have misrepresented the data for their own purposes and a reminder that there is no credible, factual way to deny the scale of the COVID pandemic.

Cue nitpickers, misrepresenters, political hacks, ideologues and conspiracy theorists....or a whole lot of silence.

 

Sounds like another fear mongering.
They correctly estimated EXPECTED number of deaths about three million where number of deaths more or less directly caused by COVID-19 should be around 100,000.

 

But remember there was an excess of 179,436 included in that 198,081 deaths that were due to suicides, alcohol and other drugs (/sarcasm)

 

What did the other 200,000 die from?

 

It's so darn hard to place any faith in what known liars say. Career bureaucrats with vested interests have little credibility in my view.

Plus a lot of old people apparently just died of things known to be linked to COVID, but it was just a coincidence. Totally.

 

The CDC is recording a lot of data on deaths and how people died. It confirms that over 200,000 people have died from COVID.

No, there are factual and credible ways. You have just been provided with yet another one. You just can't acknowledge it for political reasons. There are none so blind as those that refuse to see.

The article is really dumb, because they do not provide the methods how they came up with their number.
I believe that it is a number projected to the end of the year.

 

The problem is that CDC are neither virologists nor clinicians, they are statisticians.
They only can hypothesize.
E.g. if person has pneumonia and COVID-19 it is pretty certain that person has died due to COVID-19.
Their number is less then 100,000.

You are flat out wrong. They are counting the number of people who die every week and comparing it to the expected number based on previous years. They are not projecting. They are also adjusting the numbers as more information comes in.

You can believe anything you like, but that doesn't make it true.

Some people did not have pneumonia but died because COVID-19 exacerbated their existing diseases.
Yes, they have died from COVID-19 but it does not mean they would not die from any other common cold virus.

We can only count death due to COVID-19 if patient has died due to COVID-19 pneumonia, since we know that COVID-19 pneumonia is more aggressive then any other common cold pneumonia.

 

and remember, as no one going out, less accidental deaths, so there is that too

 

First you didn't even know that covid causes pneumonia (among other things) and now you think that's ALL it does?

Don't forget that data is 'propaganda', while stuff some guy makes up on the internet is 'facts'. So, all they have to do is just make up stuff without any credible proof and it magically becomes 'facts'.
