Iranian warships are set to leave the waters of the Persian Gulf to sail across the world and tour another gulf—the one that lies between the U.S. and Mexico.

At a time when Iran is looking to expand and modernize its military in the face of what is seen as a growing U.S. threat, its newly appointed navy commander, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, held his first press conference Wednesday, announcing that a fleet of Iranian ships would soon depart for the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico en route to visits to a number of South American countries, Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported. The move is reportedly part of a push to project Iran's military on a more global scale and establish international ties as President Donald Trump and his allies, including Israel and Saudi Arabia, seek to isolate the revolutionary Shiite Muslim power.

"Sailing in open waters between Europe and Americas should be the navy’s goal, which will be realized in the near future," Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, who served as navy chief for 10 years before being assigned by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to deputy coordinator of the army, said earlier this month at his successor's ceremony, according to the Tasnim News Agency and translated by Caspian News.

Iran's latest move toward the Western hemisphere isn't its first. In addition to receiving ongoing political support from friendly Latin American nations, some of which were alleged to host elements of the Iran-backed Lebanese Shiite Muslim movement Hezbollah, Iran said in 2014 it would send warships into the Gulf of Mexico to protest the U.S. Navy presence in the Persian Gulf, according to USA Today.

Prior to that, Iran offered to dispatch experts during the massive BP oil spill in 2010 to "curb the rig leakage in the Gulf of Mexico and prevent an ecological disaster in that part of the world," Reuters reported......snip~

Alright.....the Iranians are feeling their Wheaties. Now let us do what they do and play chicken with their ships. Hopefully we can get them to fire at us so we can sink their Navy. Come close to US shores mopes. Just so we can take some pot shots at your loud mouth asses.

Even more strange is what Iran considers to be their Navy. Still I think we should screw with them like they do with us.

Maybe the Iranians need to hear Americans running around and yelling out Death to Iran. Like they do when they say the same of the US.

I doubt we would see any politicians doing such. Now the MS media could cover some Demonstrations by We the People. Then those Iranian wannabe tough guys can start pulling their hair and beards out.

I think it is time for the United States to simply waltz into the gulf and do so in force....perhaps two Carrier groups and two or three Subs. Then await the inevitable Iranian speed boat ploy but instead of a warning shot we put a squadron of aircraft their way and eliminate the "Threat" after telling them that is EXACTLY what we will do.
We then await their pissy little whining and threats while sending three more carrier groups and five or six stealth units to SA with a little note "Explaining" they might want to rethink their blustering idiocy because we are sick enough of it to give a more detailed explanation.

They could not even sink the 1/3 mockup welded onto a barge...they had to tow it back after supposedly "Sinking" it for their TV audience.

Who said anything about demonstrations, that word was not in your post. There are many Americans calling for Iran to be flattened, and there are many on this forum too calling for that.

I am still waiting to see all these US demonstrations calling for the Death of Iran. That has been going on for 30 years. Innit funny how the MS Media forgot all that in 30 years.

The US ships have a constant presence in the gulf. It's none of the US business to be there. Yet you think that Iran are the war mongers

Flattened huh.....yet nothing about Death to all Iranians. I also said that we should play like the Iranians do. Did you forget that part?

So you think Iran in full fledge Demonstrations with the burning of the US Flag and calling for the death of America and a few Americans running around saying the same thing. Gives you any sort of comparison?

Heres one for you.....those Iranian mopes.....have their Military mouth pieces and their Ayatollah talking that ****.

So now show us where US politicians oh and our President and our Military leaders are out there doing what those lameass Iranians are doing.

    The Persian Gulf?

Of course the US is there.. Saudi Arabia is our oldest ally in the region and thousands of Americans have lived there since the 1940s. KSA has always been our swing producer and fueled the Marshall Plan with oil from Ghawar.

Hmm, you think flattening Iran won't bring death to Iranians. You must be a Trump supporter. You are one of the war mongerers. Wait a minute, I thought that Clinton was the war mongerer so does that mean you support Clinton.

A Couple of people....isn't a mass of people. Let us know when you figure that out. Nor are our Politicians or Leader of the Country running around talking about Death to Iran.

    You're moral equivalency.....fails!

Excuse me little man...the U.S. is there primarily because gulf states (other than Iran) want them and ask them to be. Iran has decided to MAKE it our business by threatening us and it needs to stop. Poking a Tiger is never a good Idea....even if it is temporarily paper.

[IMG] Don't let them know about that invitation by the Saud and Bahrain. Might as well as throw in the UAE too.

    Mums the word.

The first thing Iran would do if they are attacked by anyone is bomb oil installations in Dhahran, Abqaiq and Ras Tanura. Then they would hit Jubail.

So if the Iranian ships do enter the Gulf of Mexico after invites from their allies, you won't support any Trump tweets calling the movement an act of aggression?

I don't think that dropping bombs on Iran would be that selective. The Iranians have a problem.. Its as if their leaders have a big chip on their shoulders.

The Persian Gulf isn't Iranian waters.
