New engines - possible?

    So remember, Brett, everything under the Sun can be described as "Perpetual motion" if one is determined enough. So don't be so innovative. Don't think for a moment that you could get away with simply hooking up some kind of DC motor to a solar panel to pump some water up a hill or anything without soon draining all the Sun's energy. You go and get all uppity like that and next thing you know, BAM, out go the lights! Game over, man! GAME OVER!!

    The point is that he'd be better off just using the sun's energy to charge a battery and use the battery to power an electric motor, than to use his rube goldberg "suction" engine. Why? Science......
