Oh, I'm sure this is not the lowest this jamoke will go.

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/washington-secrets/new-gallup-low-for-biden-even-below-harris

"The survey service said the president has plummeted 13 points since June, now sitting at a dismal 43% approval rating, the lowest of his presidency.
Worse, said Gallup, “For the first time, a majority, 53%, now disapproves of Biden's performance.”
The survey was taken after the failed Afghanistan withdrawal that left many Americans behind, an event condemned by the nation in multiple other surveys.
“The latest drop in Biden's job approval score is the second significant decline since June. Biden's honeymoon ratings near 55% first faltered in July, falling to 50% amid rising COVID-19 cases caused largely by the delta variant. In Gallup's Aug. 2-17 poll, Biden's rating was essentially unchanged, at 49%,” said the service.

Biden took his biggest hit from independents."

Independents have shown the greatest variation in their opinions of how Biden is doing. Biden's current 37% approval rating among independents is his lowest to date and 24 points below his personal high of 61%. Two-thirds of Biden's slide among independents since he took office has occurred in the past three months.

And his spokesperson and cabinet officials are not helping him

Yes, the numbers are down. These numbers aren't all that surprising considering a lot of independents didn't vote for Biden because of Biden, but that he wasn't named Trump, and the Afghanistan pull-out was going to be a ratings detriment. That's why nobody (Obama, Trump, Bush) pulled the trigger on Afghanistan. I don't think Biden even has aspirations for re-election in 2024. The Dems will have to have a viable candidate for 2024, I don't think Biden will be an option, and I hope it isn't Harris. Hopefully we WON'T have the choice of Trump/Biden/Harris by then.
It would be awesome to have at least one decent candidate. The last time we had two decent candidates (arguably) was 2008. 2016 and 2020 was a lesser of two evils election.

Newsom. He'll be so enthused by his recall mandate that he'll run for President in the middle of his second term as governor.

All the bad news happening this year and Biden's approval rating is still higher than Trump received throughout his first two years

You got me wondering. since I'm all about elections, how many other presidents have maintain a 50% overall approval rating for their first six months or until 1 Sep of their first year, then how many seats in the house did they win or lose.
    Biden yes, midterms ???
    Trump no, lost 44 seats
    Obama yes, lost 63 seats
G.W. Bush yes, gained 8 seats
Bill Clinton no, lost 54 seats
G.H.W. Bush yes, lost 6 seats
    Reagan yes, lost 26 seats.

I really didn't expect to see 4 presidents maintaining a 50% plus overall approval for their first 6 months. I expected more fluctuation. I think a president's approval rating in Sep of his first year is irrelevant. It's a presidents approval rating in Sep of his second year, the year of the midterms. You already have the number of seats won or lost, now for the Sep approval rating of a president in their second year.

    Biden ??????????????
    Trump 40%
    Obama 46%
G.W. Bush 68% the only president to gain seats during his first midterm since FDR
    Bill Clinton 39%
G.H.W. Bush 67% He still lost 6 seats
    Reagan 42%

Even an approval rating in Sep of a president's second year doesn't guarantee a gain of seats in their first midterm. But an approval rating of below 50% seems to indicate a loss of seats. Interesting that Obama, Bill Clinton and Reagan recovered to win reelection. G.H.W. Bush failed along with Trump.

Bottom line, approval ratings seem to mean nothing as far as elections are concerned until an election is near. As for Biden, he flew high above 50% due to independents for his first six month. Independents gave Biden an average of 52% approval for those six months. I think that was because Biden wasn't Trump. That was enough. Then wham, bang, thank you ma'am. August and Afghanistan happened. All of a sudden not being Trump wasn't enough for independents. They started for the first time to focus on Biden and the Democratic controlled congress. Trump forgotten by them finally. My two cents anyway.

I posted the poll only because this is discussion oriented political forum and I wanted to stir debate. I really don’t put much faith in polls, they are too easily manipulated.

That's why I go by RCP averages.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-7320.html

You see a low of 42% to a high of 50%. Averaging them all out tends to negate any outlier polling or skewed polls. But to each their own.

You should have just linked the poll. There are some who would discredit 2+2 = 4 if that's what fox news posted.

    Or call it racist...lol

    ET TU, MINNESOTA?

"Joe Biden’s manifest incompetence is, naturally, driving down his approval ratings. After all, some failings can’t be concealed forever, regardless of how compliant the press may be. Thus his current approval/disapproval numbers in the Rasmussen survey are 42%/56%, with a 47% plurality strongly disapproving. And his disastrous Iowa numbers made headlines last week."

"Now, blue Minnesotans are getting into the act: the Star Tribune poll finds Biden under water in the state at 47%/51%. Given Biden’s appalling job performance, that shouldn’t be surprising. But the poll reveals dramatic and surprising splits.

"Minnesota men overwhelmingly disapprove of Biden, by 28%/70%.

"college-educated are more likely to approve of Biden (56%/43%) than the non-college educated (38%/59%). This is more evidence that college makes you stupid."

Look for the GOP to run strong in MN in the 2022 elections with a pick up in MN Congressional District 2.

I have respected Gallup for more than half my life, when I have been left and right alike. They are the best of the non-aggregates in my opinion. RCP has him at 45% right now, 44% when the OP's poll was.

I'd say that's pretty on point. To pivot to another pollster seems like selective bias.
