Joined back in October, been lurking but have found the forums to be rather civil considering politics is one of those subjects, like firearms, that tends to light up the lines with callers of all leanings and opinions.

My primary interest and source of income is communications, but I tend to drift into politics when I see a person or cause I wish to support and got into elections back in the early nineties.

I was raised in one of the most politically corrupt counties in Florida that being Broward County where we where considered to have some of the best politicians money could buy, but along the way I have come across a few who where actually deserving of being elected.

Worked a number of local campaigns and got a feel for politics and liked working behind the scenes.

One of the first national campaigns I became truly involved in was Allen West for Congress, West had tried a run once before but failed, though he did pulled a good number of votes.

The second time around was interesting, the incumbent needed to get reelected for if he didn't he would not be eligible for a Congressional pension, which in my opinion was a good reason to make him lose.

West was an interesting guy, retired military, affable and when it came to speaking had a touch of old tent revival preacher, combined with a strong conservative leanings.

I aligned with a group of Tea-Party folks out of Fort Lauderdale and convinced them media was never going to like them or cover them in any positive way, but I would try to, at first they where suspicious, here was a guy with thousands of dollars of professional video and audio gear and he was offering to work with them for free and all they had to do in return was get me access to a group of politicians they where working with, one being Allen West.

As time went buy and after a few meetings trust became mutual and I was able to expand my access.

My primary target West, what they didn't understand was my You-Tube channel, which in the early days of You-Tube was paying a decent rate for advertising, advertising based on content views and that was going to turn out to be gold for a few of us.

    The Revolution.

West was going to speak at a rally held in the Revolution nightclub in downtown Ft Lauderdale, I was able to secure a second floor position for one camera that my son was operating and I was working a remote in the crowd, I tapped into the audio board using wireless audio, which was fed to both cameras and to a hard connected Tascam PAR at the board as a backup.

West gave an amazing 5:58 speech that had the crowd on their feet, my son edited it and appropatly named it Allen West The Revolution, which was quite fitting as it was revolutionary considering PC was already creeping into our society.

Uploaded it to my You-Tube channel and it began taking hits, lot of hits and the ad revenue became pouring in, I promoted it to a lady who was at the time producing Hannity and I believe Glen Beck on FOX News, Hannity ran with it, had West on the program and it hit the fan, overnight it took almost a million hits and when the dust settled West had earned as a direct result of that video almost two million dollars in contributions and with the advertising revenue, I paid myself and my son back for all the equipment and time we put into the project.

West was elected, Ron Klein lost his pension and the world was good for a time.

Well needless to say I lean right and conservative and have forever even though it was very unpopular to do so during the era I grew up in, I was counter, counter culture and loved being different then the lemmings around me.

Anyhow I have rambled on enough so as they say, that's a wrap, lets pack it up and go have a beer.

Welcome and don't mind the trolls. Trolls aren't as smart as they are allowed to be.

That I quickly discovered and found the best solution is just don't reply, the few times I have I learned they a very limited and what seems to be a preprogrammed response.

It's sort like conversing with a parrot, after awhile you realize the bird only capable of saying 2 or 3 thing over and over again.

    Anyhow thanks for the welcome.
