The original posts were about "ISIS is Islam as practiced when created". I responded that Christianity, at its start, was no better. Maybe not a conqueror's religion (althought it does openly proselytize), it was nonetheless a religion conquerors used to control their populations, including making war in its name (something that seems exclusive to the Abrahamic faiths).

The more the practice of a religion gets orthodox, the more **** it produces - because organized religions are basically segregating tools. That's what I was trying to say.

imo the Sikhs aren't pets of any party and are extremely misunderstood. There aren't enough of them to constitute a voting bloc.

I hope that Sikhs go into the military in large numbers, as perhaps they can straighten it out when they rise to high field grade and general grade.

Again, my point was about the orthodox being more extreme, by definition. Christians orthodox, Muslim orthodox, jewish orthodox, sikh orthodox. Only difference is in the colour of their respective tags. I don't see what so hard to understand.

Defending minorities implies that you "defend" them against the majority. Here, the majority, religious-wise, is made out of christians. If the majority was, say, Jewish, then you would conclude that these "liberals" are antisemites, right?

But while your "moderate" Muslim neighbor is NOT yet crucifying people, he lacks the moral integrity to condemn Qur'an 5:33 (or Allah or Mohammad) for saying to crucify as punishment. He lacks intellectual consistency, and common decency (crucifixion is barbaric and inhuman.)
