A new NPR/PBS/Marist poll finds that a majority of Americans — 56% — say they oppose the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision guaranteeing a right to an abortion in the country, versus 40% who support the ruling.

That’s nearly identical to a CBS poll released over the weekend showing 59% disapproving of the decision.

It is good to see that the Majority of Americans Oppose this Horrific Decision.
Sadly, these Extremist RW Judges have sent America back into the Dark Ages.
Still, is good to know that the Average American opposes a S.Court over-run with Reactionary Activist Judges.

As been said quite often by the left when they want to argue against the majority: what if the majority wanted slavery? More people disapprove of Biden than they disapprove of this decision, and for most people the decision won’t impact them at all.

AJ, I’m sort of neutral on this issue, but I believe this is a such a hot issue for the left that they will conjure up the poll results they want.

If the left is so keen on abortions, then their only option is to travel or move to states that allow them or vote for politicians who will. Polls aren’t going to change anything any more than a poll will get Biden to change his policies.

The fantasy, more folks agree... BS. The same polls AJ jumps up and down about when asked, would you change the law, the majority said no. So, out of both sides of their mouths, respondents repudiated AJs primary premise.

Liberals. If y'all want abortion, legislate it. 5 surly old guys shouldn't have the ability to "create" a right for you, do you not agree?

Very few people support abortion — what they support is people having bodily autonomy and not being treated as livestock.

    You play both sides.

In one breath, you're pro-choice. In the other, the left are baby-killers. Those are your words.

I should have neutral on the ruling, I just don't care either way because I will never need an abortion.

Pointing out that no right to abortion is contained in the Constitution is not extremist Right Wing.

What they believe is that no législative body has the right to tell individuals what to think about when life starts and what constitutes murder.
Those are PRIVATE decisions and outside the scope of law.
Get out of peoples' private lives. It is no business of the state.

    It is extremist nonsense.
There was no such thing as abortion in 1789.

Frankly if I were worried about legislative overreach I would be extremely worried about the tentacles of law creeping into your pursuit of happiness.

Even if there was it us obvious that those who wrote the Constitution didn't think it important enough to mention it specifically.
Instead the included it under LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
How dare any legislative body tell an individual what opinions they should hold about their own morality!
It is l8ke telling them what religion to believe.
    This is Gideon stuff!

Everything significant that happen goes through the Senate - like approval of SC judges.

The Senate is made up of two Senators from each State. Consider two of these States

Wyoming has a population of about 581,000 people
California has a population of about 39.4 million people

Therefore each person in Wyoming has about 68 the representation as a person in California.

Many similar examples can be cited. This is why the House of the People - the House of Representatives - is often so far out of line with the Senate. The Senate is nothing but a mechanism for oppression by the minority.

The system is a joke and it has failed. We see it all around us. And this is one of the biggest reasons why: We don't have equal representation. The system is highly biased towards red states.

I prefer a government that aligns with the Constitution and respects the 10th Amendment far more than I care about what states allow or disallow abortion.

No, they intentionally provided an amendment that their lack of response to every issue was intentional and should be decided by the states and the people.

Here is the perfect illustration of your point...

By 2040, if population trends continue, 70% of Americans will be represented by just 30 senators — and the other 30% of Americans will be represented by 70 senators.

    That should read

Therefore each person in Wyoming has about 68 TIMES the representation as a person in California..
