45 out LGBTQ MPs in new British House of Commons. 19 Labour, 19 Tories and 7 SNP.

    45 out of 650, 7%.

Look up "Westminster System" because that is the basis for a lot of parliaments around the world thanks to British Colonialism - there are even holdovers in your own government and constitution. Basically we do not elect a Prime Minister - we elect the party. Whichever party gets the most members into the parliament (and sometime they have to deal with splinter groups and independents to make a "Majority") is the one that forms government- usually whoever is going to be leader or Pime Minister (PM) is given a "safe" seat - one unlikely to vote them out (but it has happened lol!) Once the election is over and the dust has settled the Prime Minister picks his "cabinet" - those who will actually be running bits of the country - the ones holding portfolios". These are his "ministers". They set policy and take responsiblity to thier portfolio BUT they cannot "fire" anyone in the civil service that actually do the day to day administration of the portfolio.

If you really want to see how it all works go on you tube and watch a British Comedy called "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister"

Why do you think I follow American politics? Ours is boring. The nearest we got to a Trump was Tony Abott and the party dumped him. See this is the strength as PM you not only have to keep the public happy but also the rest of your party and if you start acting like an Arse expect to spend the rest of your time "on the back bench"

Seems to go with the territory. Actually I thought it was much more than that. In fact there are times when I believe I'm the only heterosexual man on the bloody planet.
