I'll gladly do so, just as soon as you provide the date on which Israel formally declared war in 1967. The United Nations and the United States have both declared the occupation to be illegal. I suspect they are a great deal more au fait with the legal niceties than you.
Can't as the war was declared by Egypt as part of the Arab League in 1948 and no treaty was ever signed and the armistice that was in place from the Suez War was broken by Egypt when they closed off the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping. I should like to see your proof of this please so provide statements by the applicable bodies stating the Occupation by Israel itself is illegal.
Had the US not predictably vetoed a UN Resolution the illegallity of the occupation which everyone concurs with, and with which the US is extremely circumspect in specifically naming as such, it would have been formally declared illegal. Please don't imagine that this technicality is in any way a victory for you or Israel. Israel's activities are teetering on the brink of being formally declared illegal. Israel is not a special case deserving of walking on eggshells. It is bound by the same international laws and conventions that every other UN mamber state is. Its continued and routine arrogant violation of these laws and conventions will not be allowed to continue much longer. That much I can pretty much guarantee. And I'm pleased that you agree that Israel attacked first in 1967, leaving her opponents no recourse other than to declare war.
As I expected, no proof that the occupation is illegal - just the usual claptrap on how it should be and, failure to understand history as Egypt had already declared war and then broke the armistice which in effect returns the two nations to a state of war.
"A. By fourteen votes to one, The construction of the wall being built by Israel, the occupying Power, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including in and around East Jerusalem, and its associated régime, are contrary to international law;" From the International Court Of Justice, the upper most tier of the international legal system in 2004
"Illegal actions and unilateral decisions have been taken on all sides, whereas, in the Court’s view, this tragic situation can be brought to an end only through implementation in good faith of all relevant Security Council resolutions, in particular resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973)." From the International Court of Justice 2004.
All of them are AIPAC stooges. It is outrageous that ANY foreign country should determine our foreign policy.
Probably because we give more each year to them than all others combined. That, when they have a nuclear arsenal they officially deny, but we're supposed to worry about Iran? All Iran did was take a few hostages, when Israel attacked the USS Liberty, and then it was covered up and ALL the men on board called liars by Americans with dual loyalties, most of them Christian Zionists. I'm expected to believe Israel is my "friend and ally?" Nope. I vote for leaving the region and "unfriending" all of them. We can drill for oil here. I'm done with these drama queens.
