New York Times chief outlines coverage shift: From Trump-Russia to Trump racism

At the beginning of the American Civil War no Republican owned slaves.
Lincoln had to fight the Democrats in the North and South (the south with
an army, the north with politics.)
The Jim Crow was a Democrat invention.
The KKK were old Democrats.

Okay, in the current century Democrats blame the "racism" of the past on
1 - America
2 - white people
3 - Western civilization
4 - Republicans

and Democrats don't blame:
1 - Democrats

 

The notion of all ethnic Jews holding a dual allegiance to Israel is racist garbage. When the Trump cult accused Omar of being a racist for spreading the notion of dual allegiance, I agreed . . . only to find out she hadn't actually spread any such thing and it was all made up by the Trump cult. Now the Trump cult is trying to look the other way while Trump spreads the same doctrine they were willing to call Omar racist for.

 

Not much thought there at all. Who is the Hitler wannabe where have I been 'racist'. In fact which race am I being racist against?

 

Why didn't you just say you didn't understand what racism actually is? You wouldn't have had to respond and I wouldn't have wasted my time reading it.

Firstly, ethnicity is not race. Secondly an opinion on loyalty is just an opinion and can be argued either way. Thirdly, the point has nothing to do with Omar or any of the "Squad".

 

Hmmm, who bases his support on appealing to bigotry and fear, and picks a defenseless demographic to blame all of our problems on? Who claims the media is an evil conspiracy that should be banned? Who holds military rallies for himself? Who was a lifetime loser that accidentally got into a position of power?

Well, I don't know what I am supposed to be "embarrassed" about.

 

I wasn't supporting Trump. I am not even American.
I was talking about history.
But... it's the people who flog this "racism" "sexism" "homophobia" stuff who helped
Trump get elected. It's a grim choice for many people.

I have strong memories of the Tea Party doing most of the negative things you mention, during the 2010 election & after. Every charge you lodge at us liberals, conservatives are equally guilty of doing. I've seen liberals called all sorts of derogatory names in the media & even on this forum, so neither side is truly innocent here. But my point is that we need to get beyond the trivial differences we have with each other & start seeing & honoring our mutual Americanism, & thru that, work together for our mutual benefit. That's how American succeeded for over 250 years, & we need to continue that.
