What the heck is wrong with the media?

    March for Life 2013.JPG

Oh...yeah...they are the propaganda arm of the extreme left and so suppress any evidence that many do not buy into the lies of the abortion industries' lobby. :puke:

I don't have TV so I don't know anything about this (plus I hate media/news in general). What are they marching for?

It was the March for Life. In opposition to abortion. It occurs every year at the anniversary of Roe -v- Wade. There were a few mentions of it briefly in some markets, but mostly the news is obsessed with the Man-tie-tay-oh...(however you spell his ridiculous name--not even worth looking up) dead fake girlfriend stupidity.

Media and news in the USA has been broken for years. I always listen to some foreign news to get a circumspect view of whats going on, so much as I can, even at that.

There is political bias for both sides in the media, though according to the FAIR study, you may have a point.

It would seem from this study that progressive reports do get more media attention, one of the reasons I don't use media reports in my comments.

Were the gun control marchers covered? I've seen nothing around here on the topic.

If occurs every years, like the may fly hatch, then it won't get much coverage.....plus Anti-Choicers aren't real popular...it's not like they're going to change anything...

Concerning Sandy Hook and banning guns, yes...Concerning the pro-gun marches, a little, but not much.

    - - - Updated - - -

It's a milestone year (40 years and 55Million abortions), and a HUUUUUUUGE turnout. I live in a fairly small town, and I know people who went for the march--several people.

Thanks for that...but I also question how "conservative" and "liberal" are defined by most sources--especially when the source calls liberals "progressives." Makes me think the disparity is even more significant.

I am not a pro-lifer but this should have been covered. But I have noticed the media ignore left issues too.

While I was evacuated from New Orleans I watched the news constantly, did they keep us updated on when and where relief was coming for the people stranded there? No, they spent hours on end talking about the poor preparation and looting.

    Sometimes the media sucks.

A free press is sooooo important to liberty. What do you do with a press that abdicates its responsibility and uses its power to limit information or to supply preferred perspectives rather than objective facts? They are a threat to our security, IMHO.

I've been pondering this very question. Since liberty is always under attack, what do you do when your institutions that traditionally have ferreted out threats to liberty give up on that job? Without a free press doing it's job, we get... well, what we have I suppose.

Maybe the insignificance of what these regressives were doing was the reason it didn't get much coverage....TVnewspeople try to cover what the most people are interested in watching.......

Exactly...Lazy ass entertainment focused hedonists certainly do watch more TV than informed activists with moral compunction. You're certainly right about that.

CNN was more concerned about Michelle Obama's dress designer, than the content of the President's inaugural speech. The media has been a farce for a long time now.

What are you talking about? Do you know? I 'm very good at pointing out your "errors" but that's so easy, everyone is doing it....:)

I posted:Maybe the insignificance of what these regressives were doing was the reason it didn't get much coverage....TVnewspeople try to cover what the most people are interested in watching.......

And then you quoted my post and said something unrelated:""Exactly...Lazy ass entertainment focused hedonists certainly do watch more TV than informed activists with moral compunction. You're certainly right about that""".

This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard this year so far.

The press has no responsibility to anyone. They can post whatever they want/find profitable. If you think they're doing a poor job then set up a media organization - if you can't gain market share then the American people don't like your news. To censor all reporting into neutrality is tyranny of the highest order.

And to claim that they're a threat to your security! HA! Only the most frequently used justification for tyranny in the history of the country.

Not so fast...you didn't read the Time Magazine article did you?

No you didn't. It is full of the losses at the hands of those anti-choicers. Clinic closings....doctors exposed, laws changed. Oh yes....a lot has changed. Abortion is becoming harder in a lot of states. In fact many states only have one killing clinic.
