The United States will be the target of a massive terrorist attack sometime in the immediate furture. It's going to happen as terrorists become much more sophisticated. Hopefully, intelligence and law enforcement can identify and prevent such an attack. But what form will such an attack take? No more physical attacks such as 9-11. We know that radicals are actively seeking nuclear weapons, if they haven't already obtained such material. A dirty bomb is a possibility. But why limit destruction to a small area? My thought is the use of biologics. In particular bubonic plague, small pox or a modified, vaccine resistant flu virus. Their are plenty of biologic repositories that have lost disease cultures. It would be a simple matter to introduce a plague into major population areas. What's your opinion? Best regards, Bourne

Well, I have an idea too, could be useful to the leaders of the Free World. If Muslims ever try to do such a mean, evil thing, or if they try to attack and take over Europe (from within or outside, or both), the Islamic world should be dealt with once and for all - evacuate the Jews and carpet nuke the area between Islamabad and Dakar. Let the death of a billion Muslims be on the conscious of their brothers, the Islamic terrorists. There.

A nuclear response by NATO would require a concerted decision. It won't happen. Neither will Russia will authorize a nuclear response. No, it's going to happen because they have no fear of being caught - or more accurately they have no fear of the consequences of being caught. The West is going to have to learn how stupid it is the hard way.
I don't know dude, it was just a fantasy. Let's hope it never sees the day of light. However, I am more than OK about turning Muslims into hostages to Islamic terrorists and their own faith. Let them taste their own soup.
I have my doubts there will ever be as large a scale terrorist attack on the U.S. as that which occurred on 9/11. Part of that was a fluke. Damaging the twin towers in just the right manner that fire weakened them and caused them to collapse. I think the next major terrorist attack might kill dozens at most. Perhaps several coordinated attacks each similar to the Pulse nightclub shootings in Orlando last year. Simply put it is much, much easier to obtain guns and kill people in the U.S. instead of hijacking airplanes.
A pandemic would cause untold damage in Third World countries, which is what terrorists claim to be protecting. Compare the damage done by Ebola in W. Africa & the US, or in Europe. With good patient tracking & a good support system & public health system, we (the West) were able to contain the infected & treat nearly all of them to recovery (other than the one man in the US, as I recall, who was too far gone by the time he got to the US & was identified with Ebola - in TX; Europe also lost a couple of infected healthcare workers, a nurse & a doctor? in treatment) Micro biotic modification also leaves signatures; & the US & the West would move heaven & earth to ID the source of the attack if such a weapon were unleashed on us. A cauterizing tac nuke strike upon the lab that produced the weapon would be the least of the possible responses. If we ID a state actor behind all that, that state would likely be decapitated as soon as possible. & then we'd likely sift through the debris to see if anyone else were involved, & to track down sources for materials & cultures.
Since I was a New Yorker for much of my life, I don't dwell on such things. What's the point? I very much believe in statistics, so, at my age, I had blood sugar tested since diabetes becomes more likely - anyway, statistics say I am far more likely to be a victim of road rage or some random wacko than any coordinated attack if I am to meet a violent death. There were attacks in Japanese subways a few years back - ricin, I think. There are so many possibilities, it is almost random.
Actually rather than road rage or a "random wacko" you're statistically much more likely to be murdered by someone you know. A family members boy friend at a family reunion. A guy you've hung out at in the local bar a few times. Co worker. Someone who goes to your church. You get the idea.
