Well, we're at the midpoint of the season - let's see how my predictions have panned out:

    AFC
    AFC EAST
I thought Miami would win this division provided Tua didn't get hurt, and I had the Bills finishing second. Well, Tua did get hurt, the 'Phins tanked, and today the Bills have a four game lead in the AFC East. See ya in playoffs.

    AFC NORTH
I did not have the Steelers leading the division at this point. No surprise the Ravens look good and King Henry is putting up Jim Brown-type numbers. Hope he stays healthy...
Amazingly enough, if the Bengals can turn things around they'll still be alive for a wild card berth in a rather mediocre AFC.

    AFC SOUTH
Texans in first. Jags a huge disappointment.

    AFC WEST
Reigning champs only undefeated team in the league.

    NFC
    NFC EAST
As I stated earlier, Washington did the most to improve themselves in the preseason, but 7-2, first place in the NFC East and second-best record in the conference? Whaaaat...???
No surprise Eagles looking solid with Brown and Smith back at WR. Will they make a run or will their defense implode down the stretch? I think they'll make a run - Barkley looks great.

    NFC NORTH
Like I said before - best division in the NFL.
Lions, wow. Jared Goff is playing lights out.
    Vikings surprised me.

    NFC SOUTH
I must admit, the Falcons and Kirk Cousins are a bit of surprise. I had the Bucs and the dumpster fire in New Orleans vying for this division.

    NFC WEST
Bizarro World. Cardinals in first place and 49ers at 4-4.

It has definitely been a season so far. I’m thoroughly enjoying it, except the part where Caleb just isn’t Calebing the way we were expecting.

I agree with @Talon. The Commanders are getting it done. Lions/Commanders Championship game?

I dropped Stroud as my fantasy QB and picked up Cousins. He did okay for me yesterday. I still have Tua, but I’m not starting him until he proves himself. I beat my husband for the first time yesterday. He’s now 5-1 against me in my 3rd year of fantasy.

I'm in! Of course, I grew up in the Detroit area but the last 26 years have been living here in the heart of Commanders country, just outside of DC.

It'll be fun arguing with the neighbors.

I’m a bears fan cheering for Detroit. I watched Barry, year after year, impress us with his talent. He got no support. I want this for him.

The Bears O-Line needs to step up. Caleb can't Caleb when he's got defensive linemen all over him.

Lions/Commanders Championship game? Track meet. We'll see how the Commanders handle the bully in the NFC East, the Eagles. They face each other twice before the end of the season and I have a feeling Saquon is gonna run wild on them. Jayden & Co. are going to have to keep lighting up the scoreboard for Washington to win.

I like Cousins, but he's probably been the most overpaid QB in the league (up until Dak Prescott signed his latest contract). The Falcons have a soft schedule ahead of them so while you're racking up the fantasy points it's going to be difficult to get a good read on that team and how they stack up against the best teams in the NFC.

Barry was the greatest RB ever, imo. Bless his heart for staying in Detroit all those years.

Better hope you get the Ravens in the AFC Championship. Lamar Jackson will figure out a way to lose that game.

Ravens are the best team in the AFC, but that was the case last year too. Problem for them is that they will have to win in KC

I agree, and because Lamar Jackson has consistently choked in the playoffs I think the Ravens are going to have to lean heavily on King Henry to get past the Chiefs, but that's going to be a tall order against Chris Jones & Co.. The Ravens O-Line is going to have to carry that team. Run the ball, eat clock and keep Mahomes off the field as much as possible.

Did you watch MNF? The Ravens defensive coaches should really study the tape of that game. I thought the Bucs did a surprisingly good job of putting pressure on Mahomes.

The Bucs were able to run effectively. The Chiefs are the team to beat this year.....again!
I think Buffalo, Baltimore, and the Squealers have a chance, but other than that.....
Maybe throw the Texans in there, but I have a feeling they will lose in the playoffs to one of those aforementioned teams.
The Chiefs are barely winning, but they are winning! Up to somebody else to step up.
Good season so far for the fans of those teams! Sucks for the rest!

That's a good point about the Bucs being able to run effectively. One has to think the Ravens could do even better, but the question is will their coaches commit to the run? They've made a bad habit of getting away from it in the past. For a big punishing RB like Henry to be effective you have to feed him the ball early and then keep feeding him. Even if he starts slowly, and often he does because teams are keying on him, it's only a matter of time (fourth quarter) until he wears down the D and starts ripping off long runs for touchdowns. Dudes like him are a defensive player's worst nightmare.

Yeah. Ravens do have an odd habit of getting away from the run.
Henry is the mast dominating NFL back since Walker. Hated to see the Ravens get him.
Buffalo will have step it up if they meet them in the playoffs. He had something like 175 yds vs the Bills, including a 70 yd td on the first play.
    Playoffs should be interesting!
    No one is too dominant.

Nice take! You should sign on at Good Morning Football or one of the other talking head shows. :p I’m just over-stunned by how well Daniels is doing. I’m actually okay if Saquon runs all over the Commanders; he’s another of my guys. LOL. Seriously, though, that dude is throwing down some great runs. Did you see that backwards leap? Man!!

PS - I do know Cousins isn’t all that; my league is light on available QBs. We have some QB hoarders. Lol

Yeah, I saw that. Craaazy.

He can bring some serious pain when he wants to, too. There have been several times I've seen him in situations where he could have easily avoided contact but he chose to run right over and through a dude, instead. It's like watching a freight train crash into a Yugo lol. For people who love big boy smash mouth football it doesn't get any better than that.

Yes on MNF and I agree with everything that you said

If the Chiefs did not have their well deserved pedigree, we would be calling them a paper tiger like my Eagles last year and the Steelers a few years back when they started something like 11-0

The addition of Hopkins was big

As mediocre as Lamar was in the AFCCG, if the WR (Flowers?) doesn't fumble out of the endzone they might have won

    Exactly...
Jackson is a pathetic overpaid choke artist (who can't win when it matters)...

Highlighted in red: as a Bills fan I was disappointed to see Hopkins go to the Chiefs. And Mahomes knows how to find him, so that was a huge upgrade for a team that was already undefeated.
Seems like the Chiefs are in peril to lose every game, but they pull it out in the end with good defense and that "thing" they do, find a way to score to win the game.
Don't get me wrong, I respect their talent and drive, it's just that Buffalo hasn't caught a break for a long time. Even when they have a good season, someone, usually KC, has been standing in the way! Used to be them damn Patriots, but as soon as they fell off, here comes Mahomey and the Chiefs!
The Eagles are confounding the last few seasons. They look great but seem to fade as the season wears on. This year they're going to have to overcome those Lions, who look great right now. Cowboys are done.

I think that Eberflus may have taken Williams as far as he can. I’m not regretting the Bears not grabbing Daniels instead. I think Eberflus is not offensively minded. I do like the GM, Poles, and he’s likely already planned what to do if Eberflus doesn’t make something happen. (Fingers crossed.)

Anyone watching the game tonight? These new uniforms / helmets the Texans have are distracting. I wasn’t sure at first, but at the start of the 3rd quarter, I’m convinced they are too much.
