NXT has given the govt what it wanted in media law changes. I think Nick has finally outed himself as a tory.

Okay, okay, I need to put some beef into it. Here comes the beef. Nick is doing deals with the Coalition and not getting much in return. True he has held up those stupid citizenship plans in the Senate and for that I thank him. But I do think he tends to fall in with the Coalition to much. It will be interesting to see how he and NXT fare when the results of the next federal election is held. There, that's my beef

These media law changes were solely so Murdoch and Bruce Gordon could bid on Channel 10, but the NSW Supreme court tossed out Gordon's last minute lawsuit to try and stop CBS's bid for channel 10.

    The whole thing stinks

So I take your personal attack as a sour grapes whine.

Of course the changes in media laws was to allow murdoch and co to buy channel ten, it wasn't a secret. Not sure how you equate that to Xenephone voting with the Coalition too much, oh wait, of course he should be voting with the ALP no matter what the impact.

    Gotta love them blinkers.

I certainly didn't see NIck bailing out for the SA Parliament though. I wonder what he's up to now. Suggestions here in the local Murdoch is that he sees himself as being in a position of power and may be able to get into state cabinet the same way Major Marty managed it. We'll see.

I hear he is loved in SA but I seriously question that considering his contninued disruptive attatude and the dictatorial way he runs his party.

I certainly feel sorry for the people of SA except they are the ones to decide.

I think he'll walk it in garry. He could be just another member or he may take balance of power. If the latter then it will be interesting to see how government deals with him.

His push for state powers is at the best opportunity now while his party remains with an appearance of relevance which is why he has stood down to push his state credentials. His hope of appearing to make a difference is what he counts on to put his party into mainstream politics growing his party into serious contention with the major parties.

HE has one problem, not everybody agrees with his opinion. Watching the minor parties implode with their acceptance of members with questionable credentials and less than reasonable credibility (much like many on forums such as these). He has to find commanding political position to establish his party for serious contention.

BUT hey, it is his gamble and it does not stand for how people will vote. While the bastard child of the ALP might walk it in, NOTHING points to his party making any difference. While he makes this play to separate his party from the joke of the minor federal parties most people do know that voting for his party is not a vote for him.
