DACA is in court now. Not all dems believe it will survive constitutionality so yes, it is up to Congress.

I would believe most people would be “butthurt” by losing even though they have more votes. If republicans didn’t benifit from the EC they would be the ones calling for its elimination, just as trump has done in the past.

I doubt many of them have the integrity to admit as such though.

Most of the people who agree with me are delighted to hear from celebrities like Cher. Are the WaPo editors "celebrities" ?

The idea was to put the country first and not any political party. Any political party has to appeal to all the states, not just a few. The same system applies in other democracies also, though not by the same name..

Nancy would whip that guy into shape in a heartbeat. :)

I think this whole exercise has been a fascinating study.

I see a man who - showing complete disrespect for his 'opponents' in the discussion - goes directly to the American people to show them what a great deal he is offering instead of sitting down at the table where negotiations and deals are done. I see it as a shameless ploy to put the blame on his opponents, even though he said he would proudly own the shutdown and not blame others. The Dems refusal to play along is what I would have done in the face of a pathetic and transparent ploy.

You see a man who wants to show his country that he's working in their best interests and that the other side is not. And their refusal of the deal prior to his announcement shows their lack of concern for government workers or desire to 'make a deal'.

There is absolutely no possibility of learning from one another when we are so far apart. And while I strongly disagree with the right's view of this, I must respect it.

    Bottom line:

    1) Trump owns the shutdown 100%.

    2) If Trump doesn't cave in, The Shutdown lasts until 2021.

    3) Even the guy that Ghostwrote The Art of the Deal is laughing at Trump.

Case closed. End of story. :salute:

Yeap fighting for what's right for the country instead of worrying about votes, shocking we finally have a President to take on the tough issues without caving to special interest.

Doesn't matter then, it matters NOW. Pelosi has a compromise bill NOW why won't she pass it? why won't she even discuss it? Ball's in her court she is keeping the government shutdown.

We are a representative Republic and negotiation and compromise are how we legislate and pass laws and budgets. But again clearly public opinion is swing more towards more physical barriers and there is no reason for Pelosi to oppose this latest offers which meets the requirements she set forth. More electronic security, more border point sensors, more agents, and more judges. She gets all that and Trump gets the necessary physical barriers in strategic locations. Balls in her court. She controls when the government opens up and apparently that is not what she wants.

    Uninformed RW BS.:bored:

    Trump OWNS The Shutdown 100%.

Either Trump caves in, or The Shutdown goes until 2021.

Trump had a way better deal last year and he whiffed.

    Trump OWNS The Shutdown 100%.

Trump offerred her a very good deal. Thing is, is she hostage to her crazed Left Wing or can she accept a deal that is clearly good for America?

Pelosi should come to the table with Trump says… the WaPo?
