    Don't be fooled.

Trump is trying to claim so but it's absolutely FALSE

Nothing, is a link in an OP to much to ask for?

What would stop them? Needed more time to make adjustments to the ballots? Find somewhere to selectively bury them? Why can't the call it once the ballots are counted?

Gotta "find" some ballot boxes in a car trunk or broom closet.

For people with common sense, lawful elections consist of only ballots received by election day outside the most exigent circumstances including wartime, not fake SCAMdemics, and not just because Paulie and Silvio have some vans hidden away somewhere waiting.

But the "mandate" should the need for such arise, is whatever SCOTUS ends up ruling.

I can wait for the media to announce that Trump is re-elected. It happened in 2016 when they waited so long to announce Pennsylvania.

Many states have limits on when mail in ballots can start being counted — if there are not enough volunteers then the system can get bogged down especially if we see unprecedented turnout, which it is looking like we will. A few states also allow time for ballots to come in that are postmarked prior to the deadline.

I wouldn’t want anyone’s vote revoked due to no fault of their own but rather because of completely unintentional slowdowns in the postal service, would you?

Yes. Get your vote submitted by the deadline or try better next time. If you leave home to go to the polls 2 hours before close and there's a traffic jam that's tough ****. Same with postal delays.

I think they should have planned it so mail in ballots are due and counted before the poling stations are finished adding them all up.

Many states don't even start counting absentee ballots until election day. Many others allow several days for those ballots to reach the election office.

    Local laws prevail

I agree. I like that the electoral process is so localised.

Except the voter did get their ballot submitted by the deadline, they did everything correct.
That you so easily want to void voters because of no fault of their own says a ton about the narrative being pushed.

A narrative that is incompatible with democracy

What I worry about, especially during this unprecedented election where we are being forewarned that results may not be available or accurate for days later, is whether the media will still be conducting exit polls. Something tells me that we cannot put any merit on them this year because the stakes are so high and there is so much distrust that they may present a problem in and of themselves.

ETA: Well it looks like ABC is explaining how they will be using exit polling next week.

If we brought our election process out of the 20th century into the 21st and voted from home on either a smart phone or a PC to a centralized CPU running a dedicated program with fifty separate regions one for each state with their own unique sign on code, all voting counts could be tallied as soon as the vote is cast. It would ultimately be vastly cheaper, we would no longer need poll workers we would not need to waste paper and the cost of printing millions of ballots. To continue voting the way we do is a testimony to our nations stupidity.

    It’s a moot point.

Repeated attempts by GOP lawyers to prevent absentee and dropped off ballots from being counted after election day have failed.

There isn’t any doubt that the Trump team has been busy trying to keep votes from being counted.

That’s pretty much how the EU elects its Parliment.

17 countries vote in one day (which is a Saturday, another thing that needs fixing).

I was in Paris during Bush v Gore. They were laughing at us.

Unfortunately, when it comes to politics perception is everything, and right now no one trusts the tech giants enough to be able to provide this in a secure manner that cannot be hacked.

Someone should have told the Republicans in Pennsylvania that. County officials tried to get the legislature to change the law saying ballots can only be processed starting at 7 a.m. on election day, but the Republicans blocked it.

That's like saying we have no competent programmers which is not true. When you are dealing with a smart phone each has it's own unique number which could be captured as the voter casts their vote and each PC has it's own uniqueIp address swhich alsco could be captured for each vote cast.
