No, Im saying even if we accept everything the other poster alleged, there is no violation of the law

Well, in this instance the Russian Lawyer, DIDNT PROVIDE ANY information obtained legally or illegally and Trump encouraged the Russians to "find them". Not hack them.

We actually do not know what legal violations there may be... presumably the investigation will clarify that issue

Yes, but trump DID ask a foriegn nation to provide the fruit of illegality, and his team EXPECTED to receive that information in the trump tower meeting... regardless of what was actually delivered.

He asked them to "find them". What illegality. Hillarys emails were never stolen

To be precise the whole Russian--Trump investigation was political. The Russian alone thing was real and became political only when Obama chose to let it pass.

FISA Applications Confirm: The FBI Relied on the Unverified Steele Dossier

A salacious Clinton-campaign product was the driving force behind the Trump–Russia investigation.

On a sleepy summer Saturday, after months of stonewalling, the FBI dumped 412 pages of documents related to the Carter Page FISA surveillance warrants — the applications, the certifications, and the warrants themselves. Now that we can see it all in black and white — mostly black, as they are heavily redacted — it is crystal clear that the Steele dossier, an unverified Clinton-campaign product, was the driving force behind the Trump–Russia investigation.
