I'm completely new to politics and hardly know anything. Please give me an introduction and tell me what's going on. I want to hear from a lot of opinions and voices. Thank You
There are two sides: Republican and Democrat. Republicans believe in tax breaks for the wealthy and for big business and Democrats believe in welfare for all Americans. Naturally, this means Republicans are anti-welfare for all and Democrats are anti-tax breaks for the rich and powerful. This forum is heavily skewed towards the Republicans. Pick a side and debate-
Everyone in politics is crazy, the longer you listen to them the crazier you get. You catch yourself thinking and saying, "Oh My God!" Then you begin cussing and hate consumes the political junkie for one side or another,then you begin listening to satire to take a break and laugh and believe, "everybody but me is stupid" in your brain and POP a light bulb goes on in your neurons and you look around your mess you've made like The Cat in the Hat went wild in your head for 8 years with Thing One and Thing Two (Dems and Repubs). Possibly find yourself on skid row hating yourself and everyone else for being so hateful and using all their mental energy to take swipes at each other instead of just solving the problems we face. And then it's there another election cycle, like the meth dealer saying, OH, this is the good stuff even though you know the fight for power only ends in destruction by now. You look at the end result people on the news just saying everything they think is wrong and how they're going to change it and people in the Middle East apparently hate their own government even though they get on English speaking forums and say English speaking countries are Satanic and there are revolts in the streets and the whole darn world is upside down. And you blame and you blame until there is no one else to blame except yourself for taking part in it and a field of sunflowers but even that is wrong because the sunflowers didn't do it. It was the ragweed in the first place. (see previous post for allergic poetry reference) So, you ask yourself what is the computer for anyway? and the cursor just blinks at you, blinking the seconds of your life away when all you wanted to do in the beginning is be a good citizen and download some music and the RIAA freaked out on everyone for that and started prosecuting little children for sharing.
