Suspension of the exercises could be considered a good faith gesture, it was not in any agreement, if Kim is just stalling and lying in what he signed, there is no reason to trust they won't first strike... This should be considered a last chance. Mutual Assured Destruction only works in this case if the Chinese People's Volunteers in Beijing are included in the response.

If there is no peaceful solution then china has threatened to assist north korea

So I assume a war with north korea involves a second war with china also

Its a gesture that the US did not have to make

When negociating you dont give the other side their #1 goal up front

You make them earn it and save it for last

Yes, very scary, let's wait till they have 500 nukes and an inbred Kim Jung Caligula. "Last Ship" the show was lame compared to the book.

I keep asking Truimpsters to tell us just what Trump got out of North Korea.

I haven't gotten a response yet. Indeed, most of you run away from the question.

Gee, you made my point pretty well then. Everything on your list happened BEFORE the meeting, and none of it was negotiated by Trump.

The North Koreans made a show of blowing up a facility that had already suffered a collapse. NOBODY insptected it our has any indication that this was anythingmore than mere show.

If you think three American captives (two of whom were taken during Trump's presidency) is worth lowering the President of the United States to the level of a tin horn dictator, well, I guess you're willing to give away a lot for relatively little.

North Korea has not tested a bomb or a missile for months.

Actually, the South Koreans were the lead in most of this anyway.

And since the North Koreans promised Trump absolutely nothing, he got less out of North Korea then Bill Clinton did.

But in Trumpster imagination, putting on a TV show with a dictator is a great triumph, even if nothing is accomplished.

If you have watched Trump's behavior in negotiations, you'll notice that he has a tendancy to give away the store up front.

The North Koreans got a huge diplomatic victory, one which was presented to them in pageant that put Kim on a world stage with the President of the United States in a way that no North Korean leader has ever been feted before.

The fact that the Chinese knew in advance about Trump's intention that we were going to announce suspension of joint exercises suggests that Kim's negotiating strategy was fully worked out on his visit to Bejing a couple of weeks before the Singapore meeting.

So not only did North Korea win, but so did the Chinese.

Trump put their client state on the world stage as his equal, and then he gave away the top item on the nogotiating list.

All he got in response was a vague promise of future talks.

But since the North Koreans have already achieved their number two goal, and they made no concrete committments to de nuclearize (and have already announced that they have no intention of doing so) there doesn't seem to be much to talk about.

Of course, Trump wanted a pageant so he could look like a world leader on televsion, and give the Fox news presenters something they could gush like schoolgirls about for the entertainmnet of Trump's political base. Which is all Trump ever really cared about.

    1) Formally agreed with the agreement between Kim and Moon in April.. Any end of the war takes for countries to agree.. NK, SK, US And China.. We now have three out of the four.

    2) Agreement for more talks including possibly in the US.. Amazing considering how paranoid Kim is.

    3) Agreement to turn over the remains of over 7,000 POW/MIA's... You might not give a damn but i am sure the families care.
I have said this in three threads that i am sure you are part of.. You just ignore it and claim no one said anything.. ****ing sad.,

Except that’s not their number 1 goal, removing sanctions are. Let’s be real honest here, halting excercises is really nothing. Fleet still there, soldiers still there, we can strike anytime we please writhin minutes.

    Yes, Tom

The anti trump crowd had finaaly found something legitimate to complain about

I agree that trump should not have suspended the joint exercises for reasons I have already listed

But in the case of the knee jerk trump haters it like the little boy who cried wolf
