The overwhelming majority of violent crime (including gun crime) in the US happens inside cities controlled by Democrats.

Clearly, Democrats cause crime. Maybe we should just ban Democrats?

Even when you control for their larger populations, big cities still have disproportionately high levels of gun crime when compared to the rest of the country.

The reality is that rate of poverty, educational attainment, the proliferation of firearms, and a multiplicity of factors determine relative safety, not whether your mayor or governor happens to be a Democrat or Republican.

Having been a life member of the NRA over 50 years, I've known the organization and those who have directed it over more of it's history than most people who read this have been alive. Totally honorable objectives, support for gun safety, training for gun owners, and most importantly have always worked for and supported GOOD firearms legislation. Things means legislation that actually produce beneficial results, not those designed to accommodate the fears of people with holophobia who seem to think guns are living, malicious things that make normal people into evil people. More than anything else- It's a fight against ignorance and fear. If you embrace ignorance and fear as desirable qualities in our society, I guess you would have to see the NRA as your enemy.

I see those who embrace ignorance and fear as their own worst enemy.

You are entitled to swallow whatever the NRA says and does on behalf of gun manufacturers and retailers.
