The NRA is on record as opposing "Gun Free Zones".

they say they encourage mass-shooters and criminals.

well, the NRA has bowed to Secret Service pressure and will ban privately held guns when the VP speaks at their convention this year.

I guess their commitment to the 2nd Amendment, is fluid?

And the Arena won't be a gun free zone, either, will it? How much chance will there be for a mass shooting with all of those guns there?

Ronstar is not being accurate about the NRA. The NRA does not oppose the right of anyone to deny others to bring a gun onto their property - whether property they own or property they control by rent or a lease.

If the NRA HAD made it a gun free convention, it would not be a contradiction whatsoever, particularly since the leftwing MSM has furiously promoted hatred of NRA leadership and caused that opposition to lead to vandalism and harassment including at their own homes.

For example of how false the OP is, the head of the NRA agrees that schools should be gun free EXCEPT for trained, armed school personnel and/or law enforcement.

Lying - the #1 tactic of the Democratic Party, which had declared a War On Truth.

    Sure.

As long as the Secret Service is protecting the venue I'm good.

I don't need a gun, there are already plenty there and they're in very capable hands.

I don't recommend relying on Broward police though.

It's like being "Bloomberg For A Day".

When they start protecting all gun free zones with Secret Service, we can rediscuss whether gun free zones are a good idea.

But just posting signs and threatening violation with bureacratic punishment doesnt protect anyone but criminals.

what a silly claim-gun free zones are areas where the victims are disarmed and armed criminals won't be challenged.

Secret service controlled areas are full of professional armed responders.

its fun seeing two threads by anti gun posters whose faux outrage is patently silly-its all about hating the NRA over politics

that's horsecrap, you shouldn't speak for NRA members Ron. we are smart enough to realize that its silly to complain about SS rules that don't diminish the safety of those attending.

It was fun seeing a certain posters Faux Outrage over My not knowing that N.Y.C. had combined the Premise permit with the Target, something that had been talked about when I lived in N.Y.C.
This poster used no facts, only denials.

Calling New York, His City, as if he implied ownership, my house, my boat etc....

His constant telling of falsehoods has evaporated any credibility he may have had, long ago.

plus you also talked about how "dangerous" NYC was, by referencing the Son of Sam murders.

    LOL!!!!

The N.R.A. had no choice as it is a matter of National Security, just as you can't prevent a speeding ticket a Police Officer is going to write you.

oh, they 100% had a choice.

they could have told the SS that if Trump and Pence appearing live meant gun rights be suspended, they prefer they appear via live broadcast.

How does that help you ?
How many people come within spitting distance of two serial killers ?

    Joel Rifkin was more recent.

You still tell fibs, those two were not.

This thread is based upon a lie. Nothing new about that.

No, the NRA did not declare the convention to be "gun free." No, the NRA does not oppose whoever controls private property being declared gun-free by who owns or controls the property. The NRA has openly and always declared that schools should be gun-free except for trained armed security and police.

Do fall for Ronstar's OP message's false-claims baiting tactic. The OP is both false and nonsensical.

25 years ago, back when NYC had more than 2,000 murders a year.

    now we are under 300.

during the appearance of Pence and Trump, possession of a firearm by someone other than law enforcement was FORBIDDEN.

even if you had a concealed carry permit.

    so it shows NRA hypocrisy.

they support gun-free zones when it fits their agenda

Sure, and ehen Pro Gun people point out relative numbers it is not acceptable.
300 Murders a year is still very high.

And New York City has very strict Gun Control.

    its all relative.

300 murders a year for 8.7 million people is fine by me

    but less would be nice.
