What we have being presented by me is a pilot review of the report by the NTSB with details so you can understand everything. The pilot crashed in an avoidable crash is the way it happened. Watch the video if you want more data.
It still puzzles me as to why the pilot chose to use the 101 corridor to get to Thousand Oaks when he could have diverted to avoid the fog by coming into TO over the Simi Valley Hills. Simi generally does not get as fog covered as the Santa Monica mountains do, and the steep terrain of those mountains sometimes exacerbates poor visibility.
Well that is why the NTSB ruled pilot error. Caused by Vertigo or Spatial disorientation. Flying such a famous passenger can cause this problem of has to get there to take place.
Vertigo and spatial disorientation near those mountains are not uncommon. Hell, even when I've flown in clear weather over that area, it's easy to lose your position relative to the ground since there are so many mountains. The pilot had plenty of experience and was Kobe's go-to-guy. It's very sad. I still get sad whenever I drive near the crash site.
I was trained as a pilot at Hayward CA Executive airport and got used to fog. Those thinking that the pilot would be blamed as I did, we are correct.
Here is a new crash video of a 747 Korean Airlines crash analyzed by a Commercial Jet Aircraft pilot.
