http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-42826028 A discount on Nutella has led to violent scenes in a chain of French supermarkets, as shoppers jostled to grab a bargain on the sweet spread. Intermarché supermarkets offered a 70% discount on Nutella, bringing the price down from €4.50 (£3.90) to €1.40. But police were called when people began fighting and pushing one another. "They are like animals. A woman had her hair pulled, an elderly lady took a box on her head, another had a bloody hand," one customer told French media. A member of staff at one Intermarché shop in central France told the regional newspaper Le Progrès: "We were trying to get in between the customers but they were pushing us." ------ Nutella's alright I guess... But c'mon France, really?
I'm in shock and disbelief. Known for my attacks on the EU with threads like I'm known for threads criticising the EU likening them to backward savages, I'm sure, but I cannot for the life of me seem to find a thread I created, but even I'm in shock and disbelief. I mean (to me) it's funny, but, c'mon. I don't blame the EU, but I'm not thinking much of Europe right now. Why would these people react to discounted Nutella with such a craze? I mean is it like some class A drug to these people, pardon the pun but "It's a little nuts." I mean, seriously? I repeat; "C'mon..." @ France/Europe
reminds me of the january sales from old...remember the news items showing pictures of the departmen store doors being opened to legions of people barging through the ailes for the cheap tellys...I was sure people got trampled?
