Are you wondering what the heck this story is all about?

My guess is few liberals will know by listening to the liberal media

    http://www.chroniclet.com/cops-and-...lege-president-gives-FAQ-cutting-through.html

Three black students were arrested for shoplifting and assault a campus bakery owned by a white family

The brainwashed liberal student body protested the treatment of the black students by the bakery and eventually caused it to close its doors

The college was sued and accused of slander and other non academic activities

The colege lost and as it stands owes the white family and their lawyers $41.5 million

There is no way in hell that the fine will hold up under appeal,it would force the college out of business.Without the college Oberlin, Ohio and it's 8.300 citizens would shrivel up and die,the college is the lifeblood of the town. One of the three who caused all of this in the first place has had the charges dropped and their record expunged. It really was all about underage kids trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID.

If you don’t want to do the time - don’t do the crime.

This pseudo College needs to go under.
A real one will open in its place if there is a need for one.
If the majority of what is called there 'collage students' are shop lifters and their supporters, there is no need for any collage there, just a hail house and some police.

    What you mean is:
Three privileged collage students robbed a working class bakery.
That baker used to wake every day at 4am to serve the collage students.
After the robbery the robbers friends made the baker life hell.
The collage who should have apologized for the behavior of its students and should stop them from harming that family actually encouraged the hooligans.
In addition the collage stooped working with the bakery in order to break them.

Hopefully, the college will fail; it’s obvious they are not teaching students to think, only to feel oppressed.

I thought there was an upgrade on this case.
Did the college decide to appeal?

Oberlin has learned that they very much are NOT above the law.

You might find this of interest.

It’s a “point/counterpoint” sort of piece where a University of Michigan Law Professor (a genuinely nice guy, but drowning in the Kool-Aid) insisted — against the facts — that Oberlin was being “punished for the students’ speech.”

    The facts are otherwise:

The fake news narrative that this case “holds a college responsible for the improper speech of its students” is not correct. While the plaintiffs’ painted such a picture in their Complaint, when you read the depos and trial transcript, you’ll see that it is undeniable that school officials did in fact print and distribute the defamatory flyer. The judge called this “indisputable” in the summary judgment opinion. At least 3 credible witnesses testified in depositions and at trial that Dean Raimondo and another school employee carried stacks of the flyers to the protest and handed them out, which satisfied the “publication” element in Ohio libel law. At trial, Raimondo said one of the witnesses (a local journalist) “was lying.” Additionally, the jury heard Leslie Lubinski, an administrative assistant in the Dean’s office, admit that school staff made additional photocopies of the flyer for the protesters. (Trial Tr. 5/30/19, pg. 62).

The refusal of the Fake News media lawyers to admit reality, and just baldly pretending the facts are not there is just as responsible for the public’s ever-dwindling lack of trust in what is supposed to be one of our most trusted institutions.
