I would prefer to see funding such that EVERY person who lies on the form to purchase a gun is prosecuted. In all cases that would be the DOJ which has zero issue sharing info with ICE.

 

The amendment to the bill allows the FBI who does the background checks to notify ICE that a bad hombre (illegal alien) tried to purchase a firearm.

The only illegal aliens who are going to show up during the background check are those who have a criminal record or an arrest warrant has been issued by a judge.

Anyone including illegal aliens who don't have a criminal record are going to pass the background check.

All you need to purchase a firearm is ID like a drivers license. Some states issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens like California.

Many if not most illegal aliens are going to pass a background check if they don't have a felony conviction.
In California under Prop 47 many felonies are no longer felonies because leftist like Jerry Brown believe that most felonies like rape or robbery shouldn't be felonies.

If should be a crime for someone to try to purchase a firearm when they know they aren't allowed to purchase, possess or touch a firearm. But it isn't.

Being in the country illegally is a crime.
Overstays is a civil crime.
Crossing the border illegally is a criminal crime.

The city of Santa Anna, Ca a sanctuary city in the hermit kingdom of California takes about 100 guns away from illegal aliens every month.

It's a felony, a federal crime for an illegal to possess a firearm but Santa Ana PD doesn't contact the FBI or ICE that an illegal alien was in possession of a firearm. Unless the illegal alien killed a cop.
