As I said, the lines are drawn around similar groups of people in states and its up to each party to appeal to that specific group to win their vote. You are confusing successful appeal of the GOP to many of them for simply drawing lines based on political leanings. If there is a district comprised of many military people or another one comprised of mainly farmers its up to the democrats to campaign there and win that groups support.

This is why you always see districts with squiggly lines everywhere, so they encompass like minded thinkers but not based on politics.

Do they always get it right, of course not and yes it is possible in some instances to do what you are accusing them of but its not the norm.

I know it looks like Michigan will have a democratic governor come November and I don't care for either one of them. Gretchen Whitmer and Bill Schuette are both two-faced, bought and paid for political sluts climbing the ladder.

That they have GA governor's race as a "tossup" is all you need to know about 538.

In more recent news, Abrams could win after that video of her burning any version of the GA flag has surfaced. That's certainly one thing that could happen.

It's a little unfair because there are a lot of Red voters in those high population Blue states but they are outnumbered. So their votes don't end up counting.

The subject of gerrymandering had already come up so I was responding to that.

But of course you're right, gerrymandering wouldn't affect the gubernatorial elections (hence why the Democrats may be doing better than in the House or state elections), which is why the GOP is doing its best to suppress the vote among Democratic Party leaning demographics by purging voter rolls, introducing or tightening voter ID requirements and making it as difficult as possible for those registered to vote in areas which are Democratic Party leaning.

That's a sweetly naive way to consider it but you're quite wrong. It's a deliberate ploy to ensure that one party gets a disproportionate number of seats.

....because no GOP candidate ever ran an attack ad campaign against their opponent or grossly misrepresented Democratic Party policy about a subject or made the campaign about someone not even running.....

Do tell... all those dead people who might show up. It's fascinating how many 90+ voters end up casting absentee ballots for democratic candidates. Just fascination I tell you. I would further suggest that if we don't like ID's why require them when you buy a gun? Pick up your prescriptions? buy property? Or to you, that kind of suppression is ok...?

Voter ID - a "solution" for which the problem seems so elusive but the side effects (disenfranchising the poor) are so enticing for the GOP.

Exactly. Dems are full of pre-election delusions. Remember this one?

Looks like the Predictions were pretty spot on. Roughly 53% of Americans will have a Democratic Governor following the 2018 midterms. 538's estimate was that roughly 59% of Americans would have a Democratic Governor, but Democrats still experienced an 11% jump from their number before the midterms.

Most Americans will have Democratic governors after the 2018 midterms

Gotta love how well CNN has taught you to twist facts into fake news. Much like Hillary won the popular vote so she shouldve won, there are still more states with Republican governors.

    But dont take my word for it. From your link;

    LOL @ bluewave.

Most Americans now have a Democratic governor. Deal with it.

I would assert that all Americans have a democratically elected governor. But saying that doesn't also mean that there are more states with democrats who are governor. When folks start fleeing those states, they come to states, like mine. Unfortunately, they don't leave their horrid politics at the borders... However, like locusts, they generally don't stay long.

If by your way of "dealing with it" means whining constantly...well that doesn't sound healthy.

You appear to think that the political alignment of governors means nothing...

I think the thing that burns MRT more than anything is All americans are subject to the conservative SCOTUS for the foreseeable future. Oh, and the US Senate and Presidency continue to allow that court and the rest of the federal judiciary to be formed in that way.

But ya know, I'm clean out of tissues to offer to him.
