Dallas is strategically hobbled because they are paying elite money to an average QB. That will have consequences throughout the roster.
I've been a big fan of his since the Bucs game in the playoffs last year and it's great to finally see him starting. No surprise he played well and got the win. However, Rivera and Del Rio have to do something about the secondary - they've been a horror show of ineptitude and the D-Line hasn't been helping them by getting pressure on the QB. Between September 26 and October 24 they're going to be facing Josh Allen, Matt Ryan, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers, so they'd better figure things out quick
Hm... care to recalibrate your assessment of the Dallas Cowboys, sitting pretty on the top of their division, 3-1, with the guy you called an "average QB" playing great? By the way, I'm not a Dallas Cowboys fan... but I do think that your assessment of them is quite off. They are a very good team. They just rolled over the then #1 NFL defense.
The Bucs are having a lot of trouble at the Gillette Stadium. I think Tom Brady is rattled. He isn't thinking straight and is over-throwing a lot. I think the emotion of being back there is tripping him. OK, a good drive now finally produced a TD for the Bucs, now leading again, in a low-scoring affair. Bucs 13, Pats 7 with 3 and a half minutes left in 3rd quarter.
Buffalo Bills racked up their tthird win of the season, record now 3W 1L. I’ve been a Bills fan since 1963: and been to more home games than I can remember. They’re stating the season with good defense, good coaching, and a great offense with players like Allen, Beasley and Diggs. I hope this is the year they return to the Super Bowl, the fans and the city are really hungry for it.
The Taylor Heinicke era is under way. Houdini Heinicke: Washington beats Falcons 34-30 on late TD — With a flair for improvisation, Taylor Heinicke has been pulling off these sort of bizarre plays most of his life.
I've been impressed with Prescott and the Cowboys, too, Doc. Personally, I think Dak looks the sharpest I've ever seen him play as a pro. Considering how poorly he played prior to his injury, it looks like he took advantage of the time he had off to study the game purely from a mental standpoint, and it appears to be showing on the field this year. We have to remember, he still is a young QB. I think the injury may have also helped him to appreciate playing the game more, too. Being as how my wife is an Ole Miss alum, I've watched a ton of SEC football over the years and I vividly recall how well Prescott played at Mississippi State. One year he took that team all the way to the #1 ranking in the country, which is astonishing for that program, and Dak was the main reason why they made it to the summit of NCAA football. I'm not a Cowboys fan either, but I give Jerry Jones and his scouts credit for seeing the enormous potential in that young man, and picking him up in the 4th round was a steal if there ever was one. Look at what he accomplished at MSU: https://hailstate.com/sports/football/roster/dak-prescott/2911 IMO, Dak is not an average quarterback, and he has the record to prove it. If he can take Mississippi State to #1 he can take the Cowboys to the Super Bowl. Jones & Co. just need to put a good team around him and avoid catching the injury bug. I'm not sure this year's team is quite there but they look mighty good, and if they can improve as the season wears on they've got as good a shot as anybody to represent a topsy-turvy NFC in the SB. We'll get a good idea of where they stand on Nov. 25 when they play Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Taylor's been playing great and the PoliticallyCorrectskins really need to pick up a win this Sunday against the Saints. After that they have to face Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady in the month ahead and if the Buffalo game is any indication the WTF defense is going to cost them all three of those games. I cringe to think what Mahomes is going to do to that Keystone Cops secondary - he could probably hang a 60-70 burger on them.
One team that has impressed me a lot this year is the Chargers. They're sitting 3-1 in the midst of the toughest stretch of their schedule with an upcoming home game against the Browns on Sunday and then they cross the country to play the Ravens in Baltimore on 10/17, which should be a real fun game to watch. As the Chiefs presumably could tell you, I don't think anyone wants to play the Bolts right now - they're firing on all cylinders.

And the Woke Football League's most overrated head coach is gone. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I think he did the Raiders a favor getting himself canned...
It seems you would be correct about that. According to The New Duranty Times, Mr. Sensitivity was an equal opportunity insulter who made vulgar remarks about everybody, including Roger Goodell (oops). I wouldn't be surprised if GM Mike Mayock will be next out the door - neither him nor Gruden have been impressive, imo. FWIW, special Teams Coordinator Rich Bisaccia has been named interim head coach, which says a lot about the Raiders' offensive and defensive coordinators...
One of my favorite teams was the Kansas City Chiefs under Hank Stram, so I never cared much for the Raiders anyway.
The Oakland Raiders were my favorite team when I was a kid - this was back during the Madden Era. I stopped rooting for them after Al Davis betrayed their fans and moved the team to LA. I remember Stram during his last few years with the Chiefs - they were really good back then.
