Crazy day, today, with the HUGE upsets. Jax beating Buffalo 9-6, unreal! The Broncos beat the Cowboys 30-16! I didn't see these results coming! And the Falcons beat the Saints (not a huge upset as the Saints haven't been great either, but still); the Giants beat the Raiders! Matthew Stafford throws 2 interceptions in the space of 25 seconds, resulting in 14 points for the opponents! It's like Bizarro World. Poor Panthers. Sam Darnold threw 3 interceptions today. Even with CMC back, Sam sucks. The Jets robbed the Panthers!
The Bears got robbed. They scored a legitimate passing TD which was called back due to a wrong decision by the refs (it's complex, has to do with the TE's box - I wouldn't know about it but the learned commentators said that the refs were mistaken). Then Justin Fields suffered an obvious late hit after he passed the ball, which is called every time in the league, and these refs inexplicably didn't call it, resulting in the Bears having to kick a FG instead of trying again to get a TD with a fresh set of downs. Justin Fields is not bad. His stats are terrible but if you actually watch the game, it's really not his fault. The Bears got robbed but also were very inept, collecting penalty after penalty that negated many good throws by Fields. Also the interception he threw was plain bad luck, one of these deflected balls that end up with the opponents. Then when Fields was getting some momentum, one of his RBs fumbled the ball. Poor guy, he is actually better than his stats. He also got sacked a lot (TJ Watts got him 3 times; others did too). But I think it's a learning experience for him. He'll do poorly this season, but may evolve into a nice NFL QB next season. I do think that he has potential. If he had a better offensive line and his teammates didn't commit stupid penalties all over the place, he would actually be able to show better stats and win some games. He threw some gorgeous long passes that were caught, but then some idiot engaged in illegal formation, ineligible man downfield, holding, etc., so those completions didn't get counted. You subtract all those yards from his stats, and he then looks bad. His defense did produce a TD (forced fumble scooped for a TD). As I type this, with 6:31 minutes left, the Steelers are leading 23-20. Given Fields' bad luck, bad protection, and negated good throws (including a legitimate passing TD wrongly called back by the refs) I'm rooting for him to win this game. If his TD had counted, at this time the Bears would be ahead with 24 points (they did score a FG in that drive so, they were robbed of 4 points).
Yeah. My nerd was pretty upset about that, too. I’m the Bears fan, lol. I always assume they are going to lose and am rarely disappointed. I can’t wait for the Nagy era to be over. He’s worse than than most Bears coaches.
Incredible. Absolutely incredible. The Bears player sacks Ben in 3rd down, the Steelers would have to punt with 3 minutes left, the idiot who sacked Ben then taunts the opponents and the Steelers get a fresh set of downs instead, due to his unsportsmanlike conduct. Steelers get a FG out of it. The Bears are shooting themselves in the foot, repeatedly. Fields must be really frustrated. Coaches yelled at the taunting player, outraged. This guy won't be popular in the locker room. Now instead of just playing for a FG to tie the game, the young QB in a hostile environment will have to lead a 2-minute drive for a TD. He did have a good start. Great throw, to the 16 yard line. Wow, TD Bears! Another great throw. Only problem is, they left 1:46 for the Steelers. And the Bears lead 27-26, first lead of the night! I really hope that the Steelers don't score the winner! Go Bears!
Again, incredible. The Bears committed two offsides, helping the Steelers in this decisive drive. Don't they know how to line up? Steelers FG, leading 29-27 (the Bears would have been ahead 31-29 if their legitimate TD had counted). 26 seconds left.
Wow. Cairo Santos tried a 65-yard field goal. Hit the crossbar! One more foot and the Bears would have won. I can't believe it. I think Justin Fields had a great game. He did all he could to help his team, and his teammates kept screwing up.
Did anyone notice the ref laughing last night when The Browns put 12 guys on the field 2 plays in a row?
LOL - He got the GOAT this time around, didn't he? Now that the 'Skins are through what was arguably the toughest stretch of their schedule and Philly and Dallas are stumbling they might be poised for another late season run for the playoffs, but I think they're going to have to sweep the Cowboys to win the NFC East: Dec. 5 at Las Vegas Raiders Dec. 12 vs. Dallas Cowboys Dec. 19 at Philadelphia Eagles Dec. 26 at Dallas Cowboys Jan. 2 vs. Philadelphia Eagles Jan. 9 at New York Giants
LOL - That's about as bad as the Lions getting penalized for calling back-to-back timeouts against the Bears Sunday. It's been another really bad year for Dan Campbell....
I wouldn't doubt that he is. Personally, he's my favorite Washington QB since Brad Johnson. Taylor may not be a 6'5" 240 lb. badass like Brad was, but he's every bit as fierce a competitor.
I would say yes. They have allowed their opponent only 9 points each in the last three games. Mahomes didn’t play most of the 4th quarter today. The 1st touchdown was within 15 seconds! That has to be some sort of record. on another note, my Bears are planning to lose to The Packers, tonight. Should be fun.
All-Time Record. 3 Seconds of game time... The Dallas Cowboys scored a touchdown in the first 3 seconds of the game In an important Week 6 game in 2003 between the Cowboys and the Eagles, then Eagles’ HC Andy Reid tried to catch the Cowboys off guard by calling an onside kick on the opening kickoff in Dallas. But the plan backfired miserably. Kicker David Akers kicked the onside kick, but instead of a recovery, Cowboys receiver Randal Williams caught the ball in mid-air and brought it back for a touchdown. The play took only 3 seconds off the game clock making it the fastest touchdown in NFL history. A record that is still standing today.
Their defense has been mighty impressive since they acquired DE Melvin Ingram moved Chris Jones back inside where he belongs. I wouldn't be surprised if they won the rest of their regular season games. Best game of the week is tonight - Rams vs. Cardinals...
