As a child, I do not recall seeing any of the B-29s flying around the SF Bay Area. But as a kid, I enjoyed drawing WW2 airplanes. I still had the idea in my head to fly for the Air Force. My flying started in the Civilian Air Patrol. As a teen i was allowed by pilots to handle the controls two times. I am grateful they let me fly the Piper Cub and the Stinson Voyager. Later as a pilot myself, I never even got into those two aircraft. I love the Piper brand so flew their Tomahawk, their Warrior and their Archer.

A pal sent me this video of them finding a B-19 and bringing it to life. So happy caring people are out there, escaping politics no doubt.

As a youth, this is however one airplane I did see flying a few times. To imagine 6 engines was mind boggling at the time.

FDR said, talk softly but carry a big stick.

And then, this was a huge stick

Many of us never heard of the B-36 but to have seen it flying was for me a memory of forever.
