That presupposes that there is some frozen idealized notion of what a 'Muslim' or a 'Christian' or a 'Buddhist' is, and that you of all people, get to do the freezing. these large religions are actually dynamic, changing amoebas that evolve, albeit slowly, alongside the cultures and societies in which they thrive. What it means to be a 'Muslim' or a 'Christian' changes, over the geographic and historic context of centuries. That is how religions stay competitive against competing faiths, and belief systems. Religions must adapt to their surroundings just like anything else. There always be 'conservative' / purist sects or denominations and there will always be 'reformist' /moderate strains, and there will be offshoots which breakaway entirely and others that die off.

Pretty much all of them. Sending a bomb to someone is an attack, no matter how much you want to defend this hero of yours. Whether or not the bombs managed to explode is irrelevant.

I have yet to see ms Omar provide a statement on the beheading of gays in Saudi Arabia... Chances are she wouldn't disagree with the punishments since they are "perfect" punishments guided by the loving hand of Allah... Ms Omar certainly isn't a friend of the rainbow coalition.

I posted it, because it is factually correct. Homosexual acts are against the law in SA, but the penalty is lashes, not beheading.

But is someone needs to speak against death penalty in Saudi Arabia, or ille treatment of gays, it is the White House and/or State Department. Why should you pick a junior Congress woman to do it?

 

How it evolves, will depend on the climate it is expected to thrive in. In other words a successful religion will adapt differently to different cultures. In some cultures a more restrained and moderate form will do better, in another a more radical and aggressive form will have more success. And just like in a nature two 'subspecies' will evolve differently and even compete with each other until one of them learns to specialize.
