He is fortunate that Australia has taken such care to make sure it is hardly touched. I know they had one or two people with the new UK strain. I hope they managed to nip that in the bud to save lives. If the medical services are overwhelmed then many more people both people with covid and with other illnesses needing urgent attention will die.

I agree it is not a competition, the UK is not doing anything wrong. They have by and large the same response as everyone else.

Well some people disagree with you there. Some people believe people are not acting as they did in the first lockdown and that is stopping the ability to get on top of it.

This is a very serious situation. I was not talking about competition. The UK is in a bad situation re Covid. Other countries may soon be following. You absolutely were about competition and only competition. You were taking your bias which seems to be the only way you have of thinking about covid and you tried to put that on this situation.

I am merely addressing the existing climate of competition and finger pointing that existed long before my comment.

nope this thread is not about a competition as to who has the most cases per million. It is not a topic about who is the best in the world fighting coronavirus. Way too many threads already on that. This is on the situation in the UK right now.

Check out the OP. You will see it is nothing to do with competition. It is talking about a situation. One which has got a lot worse since then. Your argument that you believe there are countries worse off than the UK does is irrelevant to the OP unless you are suggesting that because you believe there are countries worse than the UK it does not matter if the UK's health systems become overwhelmed. Perhaps you believe the UK should be shutting its own people off from medical care, allowing this new strain to run freely till all the people are infected and hundreds of thousands of people are dead. Perhaps that is what you believe and that instead of trying to help its own people the UK should be taking in people from these other countries which you claim are worse.

Allowed due to non-enforcement of the rules forbidding travel from tier 4 regions.
The rules did not allow people to travel to Cornwall and Devon.
We have the same problem here in Suffolk with the rich being allowed to flee London for their holiday homes in places like Southwold.
Steady Pie is living in a country with very strict enforcement of the rules and one of the lowest death rates in the world and he dares to tell us that our response had been adequate.

Yet the British are slamming Murdoch for coming there to jump line to get his jab.

If just one tiny part of his massive media empire has even hinted about vaccines being dangerous or an attempt to tag us for Bill Gates etc, he should be refused and possibly horsewhipped for hypocrisy.
