Western society is currently plagued by guilt-trippers. The best, perhaps only way to defeat a guilt tripper without succumbing to their own game, thereby either traveling yourself down an endless spiral of faux virtue and imaginary issues, or putting some ridiculous person in charge of you whenever they are around, is to blatantly and successfully not care about their guilt trips. This is what Donald Trump does. It is, without mincing words, majestic because it is perhaps only that attitude which can save western civilization from itself.

The truth, of course, is that guilt-trippers are fundamentally impotent people. If you reject their games, they will usually throw a tantrum. They will project a seemingly endless parade of delusions upon you, each more hysterical than the last because if the guilt trip doesn't work, they haven't got anything else. You're a racist, a sexist, a bigot who wants to destroy the planet. You colluded with the enemy. You did the things that they did, only worse because you don't have any guilt or shame, which means you should be punished for what they get away with. Why won't you meet us half way, to make a fair settlement over things you didn't do, you monster?

Sooner or later, the guilt tripping and virtue signaling culture will take things too far. There is always a new frontier for them because this is what gives them a social weapon. It's not supposed to be things that a normal person can painlessly do, it's supposed to be challenging because that's what makes it into a good social weapon. Once people's actual money and actual livelihoods appear to be credibly threatened in the face of exponentially growing unreasonableness, the facade will break up and they will turn upon each other. Each and every Donald Trump out there essentially accelerates this trend and they should be praised, the small ones as well as the large ones.

so umm... three paragraphs, and all I can get out of this is that Trump supporters are kinda stupid.

Yeah, uhh, thanks for wasting 30 seconds of my time, I think.

Actually, I think that Ming is saying that Trump is accelerating the implosion of the left. I think he is saying that Trump and others like him are a good thing. I think...

Ah, you mean shaming. Shaming in the political arena is an attempt to circumvent the discussion of logic-based merit and appeal instead to emotion. The great thing about emotion is that its entirely subjective, and when used to push political agenda, there's no limits to what can be done.

I agree: Trump is shameless (read: un-shameable) and presents against the progressives greatest tool as an indestructible tower of iron will. I think Trumps supporters understand this dynamic, at least at a subconscious level, and is why, despite Trump's many failings, we continue to support him. Whatever else he is, he remains immune to their most potent weapon- shame. So long as shame remains their weapon of choice, unshameable Trump will remain our best defense to it.

    Good OP :D

Pretty sure he's saying Trumps immunity to shame is his majesty. Sounds right to me.

Right now, I'm wondering what is driving this TDS, but can't figure it out. It's like they just can't figure out that calling Trump names isn't an argument. So instead of figuring out where they have gone wrong, they just double down on the ad hominems.

I don't want to say they're just brain dead stupid zombies, but when exactly are we going to be told exactly what the hell they dislike about Trump? I mean, we're dealing with people who think that asking for favors from foreign governments is illegal and grounds for impeachment. When they get called on this by showing their own guys doing the exact thing and worse, they simply don't care!

Honestly, I find it all fascinating. How can people be so... so... so... ridiculous?

I got something completely different than you seem to have. Try reading it again, but replace 'guilt-trip' with 'shame'. I think it makes a lot of sense that way.

Sorry, but I have no idea what you're on about. That's my basic point. I have no clue where you want to go with this, including replacing "guilt trip with shame". Did I write that? Where am I supposed to replace this with, and even if I did...

WTF are you on about? I think my previous post is pretty obvious. I think you guys are insane, so it's not up to me to start replacing phrases with some post that might possibly be somewhere in this thread. It's your job to explain what the hell you are talking about in a clear and rational manner.

    Is this a possibility?

    The OP.

Its basically saying Trump is immune to the lefts shaming machine. Seems spot-on to me.

Immune in the fact that people who understand the left don't fall for their stupidity, but he's not immune to this constant barrage of nonsense. Most people are far too busy to keep up with the nonsense, so they just watch CNN and think there must be something wrong with him.

He's not perfect by any means, but you'd think that we'd get some kind of rebuttal to him that makes sense.

Garbage that goes simply "stupid orange man colluded with a foreign power, and that is definitely bad bad bad, so we must get rid of him immediately because he's completely insane, mental, deranged, and totally out of his mind!"

and nothing after the word "because" that has anything to do with their post. And then we get these boyahs who post five paragraphs of TDS drivel, and think that because nobody wants to respond to sheer nonsense, that there's something to what they've said.

It's a mad mad mad mad mad world!
