From 1998, I heard this the other day in a shop in Croydon, and I like this song, and I remember thinking it was good that in 2017, this song still gets played. The artist here still works in the public eye, but is now an actress - and had a celebrity marriage with Chris Evans, but this song, is what she's famous for, and, even though she acts and was married to Chris Evans at one point, it's this song that she's still remembered for.
South London. I know the avenue Electric Avenue that this was written about in the town over from me/Brixton. I also know Baker Street a little in Central London. I can't name another one of his/their songs, but Baker Street is an epic master piece and I love it.
Sorta cheatin' here because this band was really a two-hit wonder. Their other one was a song called "Stormy". Classics IV - "Spooky"
I'd have to take your word for it, tbh, and thank you, for teaching me something new today. However, I still like that 'to me' - It's living the British dream. Joe Cocker, the plumber from Newcastle who went on to have a hit record and perform at Woodstock and who's song was even the theme to that show 'The Wonder Years' I'd always say 'Good on Joe!'... That's pretty cool to me... How accurate it is, IDK, but, that's 'Joe Cocker' to me, 'The Plumber from Newcastle who had an Awesome Song'...
This guy actually has a strong London accent/sounds like he's from London, but IDK about him, so I'm just going to assume he's from London (and maybe even local), but... IDK. - just that voice. This one, by the Blockheads.
No idea what happened to her. Big, big potential and then just pretty much disappeared after this one smash-hit:
Whatever happened to Lumidee who sang that "If you want me to stay, I never leave"-song? Seems it cannot even be found on YT anymore other than remixes, instrumentals and a live version with poor quality.
