Does ANYONE still believe this is “no worse than a cold?”
    upload_2021-9-18_12-0-52.png

Just yesterday I heard of two states having to go to “crisis management” for not just ICU a beds but hospital beds. Alaska would be the most vulnerable simply because they do not have the option of easily flying people out.

And ICU COSTS - IT COSTS. Someone has to pay that bill - if it is the federal government that is your money.

It also costs in time for the patient themselves - those who recover from ICU face weeks and months worth of rehabilitation.

Then there is the removal of those wage earners from the workforce - that too costs. A healthy workforce is a productive workforce.

Why am I surprised this is not getting any responses?

I think it's because, no matter the statistics, people will not change their minds about covid. And I'm referring to those on all sides of the discussion. No amount of death will convince some that 'covid isn't real'. No amount of hospitals in dire straits will convince people that action must be taken. That goes for folks here as well as those I encounter IRL.

All we can do is keep trying...

Me and some buddy’s spent last night cleaning our guns and drinking whiskey and beer when our good buddy Donald made a incredible observation. Of the billions of people on this planet pretty much 99.9999999% or more is gonna die of sumptin.

    People hate Göbbelistic propaganda.

    1 in 500?

    What are you afraid of?

    Oh, I know....

    500,000 / 330,000,000 * 100 = 0.15%

The rate for Spanish Flu was 0.64%

STUPID-19 is 25% less deadly than Spanish Flu.

That should be the perspective when looking at the lives and businesses that were destroyed by crashing the economy over a bad case of the flu, which is what STUPID-19 is. After all, corona virus, like influenza, parainfluenza, adenovirus and respiratory synctical virus are upper respiratory infections.

And you all crashed the economy for nothing and ruined people's lives and didn't even stop STUPID-19.

Yeah but I for one would rather that not be a ten year old. Delta has surprised us at how it has taken down a younger generally fitter population

I have never heard anyone say that covid is no worse than a cold. I have seen it compared to influenza and the virus was developed from and influenza virus.

Elon Musk and many thousands of others have said that.

Others describe the symptoms as worse than the flu. Different strokes for different folks.

Trying to avoid the drama queens, I side with Musk. Much Ado about Nothing.

0.2% of the population. The Spanish Flu also killed about the same. Small Pox killed 30%.

The only way to stop a pandemic is to close the borders.

Instead of sealing the hole in their sinking life raft, the government punched 40 more holes in the life raft so it would sink faster.

Had your borders been closed, nobody would be getting the Delta-variant.

Who was the dumbass that let that into the country?

No because that's not the death rate.
That's not 1 in 500 who have been infected, it's 1 in 500 of the total population.
Only 43 million Americans have been infected. Fewer than 1 in 7 of the population.

All of this was happening before and now cases are surging. Biden has done nothing. And, to make things even funnier, Biden's only game plan is relying on the Trump vaccine, the very same vaccine that Democrats spent telling Americans not to trust the Trump rushed vaccine.

The real reason this pandemic is the deadliest to ever hit the US

(CNN)With 678,000 deaths and rising, Covid-19 is now the deadliest epidemic ever to hit the United States, surpassing the death toll of the 1918 flu, and indeed the combined US military deaths in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf Wars and the Afghanistan War.

There is one overwhelming and grim reality: most of the Covid deaths could have been prevented, but America's fractured culture -- political, economic and personal -- mainly delivered death rather than life.

With our 330 million-plus population, the pandemic has caused about 2,048 deaths per million population. This is one of the highest mortality rates in the world. Several South American countries have higher rates, as do a few countries of Europe.

    ... https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/22/opin...ndemic-surpasses-deaths-1918-sachs/index.html

It's hard to feel bad for people who keep bringing it on themselves. I only mourn the avoidable deaths of those who are not freedumb-minded anti-vaxers who still die because they're immunocompromised, are ineligible to receive a vaccine, or for some other reason. They shouldn't have to die because Tucker Carlson's audience is retarded.

What's your point? People take risks, they die, they would die eventually anyway.
At least they made their choice on how they wanted to live. That's none your business.

It did no good at all to elect Josef Biden as president.
His losses are far worse than Trumps.
    Biden has vaccines.
Trump had none at all for much of a year.

The retarded believed that electing Biden would solve it.
Biden has averaged 33,500 deaths per month and Trump averaged 33,333 per month.
This despite Biden having the advantage of having vaccines for his 8 months in office.

A metaphorical asteroid plummets towards earth, and you're worried about 'the economy'. That's either beserker level denial, or toddler-esque refusal to eat your greens.
