I haven't seen any evidence of confiscations...other than your word. Not downplaying anything. I believe in truth. No matter what the issue is. If people make a claim and don't back it up with hard factual evidence, I'm gonna go after them.

Probably same as the 1994 federal law did or the MA assault weapons ban...nothing. Guys at my gun club shoot their ARs all the time at the range with no issues.

 

I guess you didn't read what the law does-the weapon must be rendered inoperable.

Fair enough. But still not confiscation. I think our govt is well aware of the schit show that would cause.

 

I just wish they'd be honest with their followers about not actually confiscating any banned guns.

The rank and file Democratic voters still believe that a ban would confiscate guns. I want them to know that every single bill proposed as an AWB in Congress will do no such thing.

During the 2020 Democratic nominee debates, Beto said "Hell yes we're taking your AR-15s". When Beto suggested taking the guns, what was the reaction of the other Democratic candidates on stage? Five of those Democratic candidates were co-sponsors of the 2019 AWB which specifically grandfathers all existing "assault weapons". Not a single one called out Beto for misrepresenting the Democratic Party position.

 

Despite past and current bans NOT resulting in wholesale confiscation, you think Dem voters believe confiscation would happen? I suppose that's possible. Look at how many Repubs still believe in a stolen election. So yes...there are idiots on both sides of the aisle. All the more reason I don't belong to either party.

 

I think they still believe that it did happen. I don't know what other sites you frequent for discussions on this topic, but I can tell you that those on the Facebook pages of the major media companies think that the 1994 'ban' resulted in confiscations.
