Biden is a placeholder for the real person they want as President. That person will be Biden's pick as VP. 10 to 18 months in Joe will either resign or face the wrath of the DNC and will be removes as incompetent.

We should test for the common cold.

Do people die from the common cold?
It is hard to say how many people die from the common cold as some deaths will go unreported. I have found a few figures though to show how deadly the common cold can be. Seasonal Influenza kills an estimated 500,000 people annually. Rhinovirus kills an estimated 4,500 in the US.

Talk is now Gov Cuomo as the Dem party candidate. Do you really think he’ll allow water to be thrown on the Secret Service as he did on the NYC police if he’s president?

The 2018/2019 flu season was the deadliest yet with 80,000 deaths in the US alone.

COVID-19 is objectively more lethal and spreads easier than the seasonal flu and cold. There are also no confirmed antivirals or vaccines for covid-19.

    Please stop comparing.

I'll explain it to you very simply.

Fear of the Known vs. Fear of the Unknown.

Human nature is to attach more fear to the unknown.
It's like being on a hike and coming across a snake on the path.
Until you can determine if the snake if deadly or not, you treat it as if it could kill you and give it extra room, even
if it turns out to be just a gopher snake.

Right now, Covid-19 is that unknown snake.
Once we can determine if it's seasonal, if we can find a reliable treatment or vaccination, then it becomes a known fear
and we can treat it more the a regular flu.

And while it's fine to say there haven't been excessive numbers of deaths - if you have friends or relatives in
the high risk category, especially relatives in nursing homes - then taking extra care is no different than spending $3 trillion dollars chasing bad guys in robes across the desert.

And you should ask yourself why people panicked this time instead of having the reaction they had during
the H1N1 pandemic. Trump has spent the last three years instilling distrust of every governmental entity
that is charged with dealing with pandemics. He has belittled science, he has belittled the medical community,
and he has belittled every government agency ... except himself. But people don't trust Trump, either. So what do they do?
Unlike the 2009 pandemic, they panic.

Trump built this panic. He made his career destroying trust in the system - now that's come around to bite us in the ass.

    Dude.

The H1N1 Swine Flu killed ~12500 Americans over the course of a year.

We will probably get to that point within ~10 days.

Seems like you could have learned that when those governors didn't expand Medicaid.

The Malaria drug Hydroxychloroquine is showing much more than promising results. Now if we could only cut the slow ass red tape of the CDC and FDA we might be able to really save lives and get this country going again in only a few weeks. I heard that this drug has already been around for decades and used hundreds of millions of times. WTF is the problem?

On a side note I really can’t wait to compare the total US deaths for years ending 2020 and 2019. In 2019 the US had 2,813,503 deaths. Now, taking into consideration the population growth rate of .6% there should be 2,830,384 deaths in 2020. Lets just wait and see what this multi multi trillion dollar hysteria is really going to cost us. So far in 2 weeks it’s been a $2.2 trillion payout by the gov’t, $10 trillion Market downturn and 9.9 million jobs.

5,000 dead in 5 weeks vs 10 million unemployed in 2 weeks. And mind you that the jobless number is from unemployment claims only. I’m sure there are hundreds of thousands self employed/under the table workers not filing unemployment.

I’m betting this hysteria will add over $10 trillion to our Nat’l debt and the US death rate won’t change at all. Your opinion?

    National Center for Health Statistics

    Data are for the U.S.

    • Number of deaths: 2,813,503
    • Death rate: 863.8 deaths per 100,000 population
    • Life expectancy: 78.6 years
    • Infant Mortality rate: 5.79 deaths per 1,000 live births

It's the wall to wall cable news coverage hyping this virus just because Trump is in office. They downplayed H1N1 and Obama's lack of action to stop it. It's time to place reasonable restrictions on the first amendment, what the media is doing with the corona virus is tantamount to screaming fire in a crowded theater.

That’s what’s so sad. Go tell the MSM that when they’re comparing death counts. They’re politicizing.
